In this day and age, there is no way in which a person has been untouched by the phenomenon that is Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist in some shape or form. It has been made over and over again into movies and television shows, plays and even a musical. “Please sir I want some more.” is known far and wide throughout the English speaking world and yet, very few of us have taken the time to sit down with the original book and see what it’s all about (especially voluntarily).
