The sign you can find over each of the fifteen stables in Hyrule appropriately says “Stable”.
These blankets that cover the crates at the stables say “Horse”.
Beedle, who you can also find hanging around the stables, has two signs hanging from his little platform thingy. The one on the left says “Best Value” and the one on the right says “Great Deal”.
As you know, after meeting him at Skull Lake, Kilton sets up shop near most villages. His shop bears a sign saying “Savage Swaps” which I find to be quite fun.
You can find this type of directional sign in a few places. The upper sign says “Left” while the lower one says “Right”.
This type of directional sign seems to be more common than the one above. The one pointing left says “Thatway” and the one pointing to the right says “Thisway”.
And this is another generic-type sign, but not for directions. This one merely says “Readme” without a space.
In Hyrule Castle Library there are a number of intact bookcases, some of which are arranged in pairs. Anyway, each of these bookcases has an elaborate plaque at the top. Every one of them says “Hyrule Library” in smaller letters.
The larger letters change with every bookcase. On the upper level there are a couple of destroyed bookcases on the right side of the outer wall, then this one that says “B-C”. The next bookcase says “B-D”, then there’s another destroyed bookcase, and then a “B-F” bookcase.
The bookcases on opposing side of the upper floor are all intact. Starting at the left (when you’re looking directly at the bookcases) they are labeled “B-G” “B-H” “B-I” “B-J” “B-K” “B-L”. So, if you take into account that three upper level bookcases are destroyed, I assume that they start with B-A and go through to B-L. That’s a weird way to organize a library if you ask me!
Anyway, the lower floor has seven intact bookcases and two destroyed ones. On the outer wall, starting at the right, there is a destroyed bookcase, and then one that says “A-B”. There is another one that says “A-C” and then another ruined bookcase.
The opposite wall of the lower level has four bookcases that say from left to right. “A-E” “A-F” “A-G” “A-H”. The final bookcase which bears the letters “A-I” is the one behind which is the King’s Study. That makes for a grand total of sixteen intact bookcases and five destroyed ones. Don’t ask me why the books seem to be arranged in such a fashion.
This was really fun figuring out all the letters. This was what got me started on the whole translating Hylian kick in the first place!
This plaque is one of a pair found on the Great Plateau.
Four of the same plaque can also be found in varying states of disrepair around the fountain in the central square of Castle Town Ruins. Each plaque says: “On this day the King of Hyrule opened this structure to the public.” The word “structure” is partly obscured by cracks and grime, but from the visible letters it seems more than reasonable that it is the correct word.
There’s also this kind of stone sign. For instance, there’s one at the Sho Dantu Shrine (pictured) and on on a peninsula in Akkala that you read to get the Into the Vortex shrine quest. Anyway, these particular signs have some kind of writing on them, but it does not look to be the Hylian that is everywhere else in this game. Too bad. It would have been fun to translate this as well...
