I don’t post selfies on this blog (today was selfie day of Save Atlantis Week, for followers who weren’t aware), but that doesn’t mean Atlantis isn’t on my mind.  I was hoping to post something else today to finish off our week, but I’m not quite ready yet.  But soon, and it’s awesome.

Anyway, I think the Atlantis fandom is the most beautiful fandom I’ve ever been lucky enough to be part of.  You guys are all gorgeous (inside and out apparently).

Day 5: Favourite cast moment

I sort of went a bit mad on Google images because I couldn’t decide which picture was my favourite so I downloaded them all. I especially love the last one though. They’re all just so precious!

Wait, today is favorite cast moments?  Not cast/crew moments?  Can we get a Day 8: CREW moments?  While we’re at it, how about Day 9: Favorite FANWORKS (fic, art, vid, or even stuff like the scrapbook...)?

Well whatever, I’m a rebel, for my moment I’m going with discussing the music with Stuart Hancock.  That would be this guy.  *points at picture*  The ridiculously talented composer that the fandom owes a major round of applause.

Save Atantis Week - Day #4

Favourite S2 moment: Jason’s goodbye to Pasiphae in 2x12

S2 was so full of awesome moments I honestly had a hard time trying to pick a favourite. I was also trying to see through the squeeing for Pythacarus, so in the end I choose this moment from one of my favourite plot lines from this season: exploring the familial love between Pasiphae and Jason.

Despite being sworn enemies and trying to kill each other multiple times, I believe that Pasiphae has genuinely come to care for her son. (Just remember how full of hope and wonder she was during Jason’s short foray into darkness!) And in this scene we learn by his own admission that even being back to himself, Jason returns the sentiment to some extent. I had thought that the connection he found with Pasiphae in 2x10 would be irreversably severed when he came back to himself, so I was suprised - and delighted - when this moment happened.  Neither of them wanted to care for the other, but despite everything, they couldn’t help doing so. 

How Jason nods when Pasiphe says that he will regret it for the rest of his life... that broken “I know” at the end... Oh, this scene touched me something fierce.

And I’m kind of pissed, actually, that her return from death cheapened this beautifully heart-breaking moment. After her resurrection, Pasiphe was like an entirely different person; someone without a soul… whereas the last few episodes showed us that blackened as it was, she definitely had a soul.

And a small piece of that soul was still warm enough to make Jason hold it in his heart for the rest of his life.

I couldn't find a GIF or picture of it, but my friend's favourite series 2 Atlantis moment was in The Queen Must Die after the wedding when Medea says that she knows Jason has affection for her and Jason pushes her away.
