hi guys! i know that many of you are probably wondering what this is, and that's what i'm about to tell you! So there's this small town called Kesab located in northern Syria which borders Turkey. It's an Armenian populated town. Now however, Kessab has been invaded by Turks, and crossfires have been taking place with the Armenians caught in the middle HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF. In 1914/1915 the Armenian Genocide took place in light of World War I. The Armenians were slaughtered to death, and many had to flee to try and escape the tortures that included walking in the desert without food or water. The fact of it is, is that if people don't know about this you SHOULD KNOW! Hitler even quoted when one of his generals was questioning the idea of slaughtering the Jews, he replied "Who after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" Although no one forgot the Holocaust, (note to any Jewish readers, I'm not saying the genocide is more important then yours, because yours was bad, if not worse than ours) people did forget the Armenians. And that's why the trend #saveKessab (which Kim Kardashian actually tweeted!). So can you just take the time to like the facebook page, and tell your friends about it? It would be much appreciated to the Armenians and those caught in the crossfire.
in my polysci class we share current events, so i decided to share about what's happening in Kessab and of all the ridiculous current events that are presented here, the professor turns around and starts lecturing to me that just because i have one side of the story, doesnt mean its true.
I want to go to Syria and do something about this
#SaveKessab 😢
It disgusts me that the endless cycle of Genocide on my people, Armenians, by the Turkish State is still taking place in Kessab, Syria. Utterly disgusting. Please keep the Armenian Christian minority of Kessab in your prayers.
