One very stupid feature of Me When Sick is the fact that I end up so sleepy BUT ALSO☝humming a little when I sleep. Just a little "mmm" at a frequency that's too random to tune out. And I wake up every. damn. time.

I know a lot of writers say dialogue heavy scenes are the easiest for them, but they are actually the hardest for me. They take F O R E V E R. Not because I don't know what the characters are going to say ( I do), but because everything has to be just right in so many words. I'm only going to interrupt with so much narration or dialogue tagging or action tagging so I don't break the rhythm. And if I do break it, I'm breaking it on purpose to create a beat.

But then somewhere in there I have to show feelings and subtext and convey information for the reader and all that lovely stuff. And I have to make sure it's in the character's voice.

Lots of things to do in only so many words.
