The Connecticut Irish community gathered together on this misty afternoon to bring attention to Quinnipiac University’s decision to close Ireland's Great Hunger Museum. Opened in 2012 under the stewardship of then-university-president John Lahey, the museum holds the world’s largest collection of Great Hunger-related art, artifacts and literature. Its future has been challenged since 2018 when Judy Olian succeeded Lahey as president. The collection is in danger of being split up and sold.
