50 . is she afraid of dying ?

YES.    absolutely. jane has many fears, ranging from men in uniform, to imprisonment, to isolation, to drowning,etc - but her number one fear that she fears more than any other is death. jane has an extremely strong will to live, she will do what it takes to stay alive even if it means killing in order to do so. in fact, taking a life for her own comes as easy as breathing to her. at this point it’s a natural reflex.

she is afraid because she fears the unknown. she doesn’t know where you go when you die, she doesnt know what happens to you or how you feel. where do you go? does it hurt when you leave? can you ever come back? she doesnt know. but she does know pain, she knows what it looks like when someone is pleading death to stay. she knows that it is something to fear, she watched joyce battle death for her son. she has stared into the glassy gaze of someone that no longer exists on this earth. and its terrifying to her. it haunts her, it plagues her sleep, it is a concept she would rather run from or not acknowledge at all than to face. yes, she is afraid of dying.

❀  share a headcanon you have not shared.

a big headcanon that i haven’t really discussed with  anyone  before is  dustin’s relationship with his animals / pets .   as we can see in season 2,  dustin has a very special relationship with  dart,  aka the unknown animal that he’s taken under his wing .  (  and by a lesser extension,  yertle the turtle .  )   i think it’s very important to note that dustin does not feel the same sort of  bond  with mewmew,  his mother’s cat .  why ?   i think it’s pretty simple to say that it’s because it’s his  mother’s,  and while he still  loves  the cat,  there’s just not that bond .   before moving to hawkins,  dustin had literally  no one .  he was estranged from his peers at school,  bullied constantly,  and he felt like he couldn’t confide in his mother .  the only companionship that he had was with pet lizards, and yertle .  basically,  animals mean a  fuck ton  to him .
