❀  share a headcanon you have not shared.

a big headcanon that i haven’t really discussed with  anyone  before is  dustin’s relationship with his animals / pets .   as we can see in season 2,  dustin has a very special relationship with  dart,  aka the unknown animal that he’s taken under his wing .  (  and by a lesser extension,  yertle the turtle .  )   i think it’s very important to note that dustin does not feel the same sort of  bond  with mewmew,  his mother’s cat .  why ?   i think it’s pretty simple to say that it’s because it’s his  mother’s,  and while he still  loves  the cat,  there’s just not that bond .   before moving to hawkins,  dustin had literally  no one .  he was estranged from his peers at school,  bullied constantly,  and he felt like he couldn’t confide in his mother .  the only companionship that he had was with pet lizards, and yertle .  basically,  animals mean a  fuck ton  to him .
