“Do you really have to do this?”

Allen let the question hang in the air for a long time because he didn’t really have a good answer for you. Finally he turned from his the Savitar suit looking at you. You looked so worried.

“Y/N, the probability of...” He stopped as you looked away from him. He sighed before stepping up to you, “Hey...”

You looked into his eyes as his hands took your face gently. He smiled a little, “I love you, Y/N, and because of that I have to follow your philosophy. I have to jump to see if there’s even a chance to stay here...”

“Allen...” Your eyes shut sending a tear down your face. He wiped it away, “It’s not okay for you to use my beliefs to justify it.”

He let out a small laugh resting his head against your forehead, “I listened and I liked what I heard.”

“I just...” You reached over to him tugging on his jacket lightly, “I just...”

“What is it?” His hands moved down to your arms.

You sighed slightly, “I just had this dream the other day...we were happy together. Not in the city...traveling...We were happy.”

“That sounds nice.” He whispered his mouth getting dry. He took in another breath seeing Killer Frost off to the side, “I have to go.”

“Please...” You held onto his jacket tightly, “Please don’t...”

“You’re going to be okay.” He told you confidently, “No matter what I made sure that you’re going to be okay.”

“I can’t do this without you.” You whimpered.

“You won’t have to.” He pulled you in close, embracing you tightly, “I will always be there for you...whatever the outcome.”

“Savitar...” Killer Frost crossed her arms sighing, “We have to go.”

“I know.” He watched her roll her eyes before looking back at you, “Y/N...”

“No...” You shook your head.

“I have to go...” His heart ached as he took a step back toward the suit. 

Killer Frost looked at him later as they stood in the park, “Do you really think that this will work?”

“Just do your part...” He told her. He could feel a shift inside him. This wasn’t going to work.

When Barry showed up the wormhole dissipated. Allen turned looking at him, “It...didn’t work...did it?”

“No.” Allen stepped out of the suit taking in a deep breath looking up at the sky.

Barry stepped over to him sighing, “I’m sorry...”

“Yeah...we knew it was a long shot.” He frowned a little before just standing in silence with him for a moment, “You the only one here?”

“Cisco found Caitlin...Radioed in that she slipped away...” Barry watched him carefully, “Everyone else is back a the lab.”

“Good.” Allen looked at him feeling a tickle in his nose, “Probably better that way.”

“Is there...anything...I can do?” Barry asked taking off his cowl.

“No...just keep your promise.” Allen smirked a little, “Actually...uh...if it’s a boy...”

“...don’t name him Bartholomew.” Barry smiled a little, “I promise I’ll take care of her...”

“I love her, Barry...I told her I would be there no matter the outcome...” Allen felt a tear go down his cheek, “She made me feel whole again and brought me back to...to being you...”

“You really think that?” Barry asked him curiously.

“She made me a hero again.” Allen looked at him smiling a little, “She isn’t going to trust anyone...but she will eventually...she’ll jump.”

“Jump?” Barry squinted a little.

“You’ll see...she’s at the warehouses on Beechtree....” Allen smiled looking up at the stars, “I think...”

Barry let out long sigh standing alone in the park. This wasn’t going to be an easy.

He skidded to a halt in the warehouse, “Y/N?”

“Allen?” You ran out from the small break room stopping when you saw Barry.

He held up his hands, “I’m not here to hurt you. Allen sent me...”

“...where is he?” You clenched your fist.

“His plan...it...” He swallowed looking down, “I...he made me promise to help you.”

“You?” You stared at him shaking your head, “No...he...said he would always be here...”

Barry looked at you nodding slowly, “And I will be.”

“You’re not....”

“I am.” Barry stepped forward but stopped when you stepped back, “I am him...He’s the part of me that no matter what...will protect those that love him with whatever it takes. We’re the same person and he realized that at the end because you brought him back to the light.”

“...I can’t...” You shook your head, “He can’t...”

He watched you break down in front of him. He approached you slowly taking you into his arms. You flinched slightly but didn’t pull away, “I’m here...I’ll always be here...”

Allen stepped out of the Savitar suit grumbling to himself. Something was wrong with it still it just didn’t work the way it should anymore. Not since the last fight.

He pulled over a stool taking a seat before he pulled off the panel to take a look at the wiring. You smiled a little as you watched him sick a small screwdriver in his mouth. Even now...after everything...after finding out who he really was...you found him cute.

Now he seemed more himself. Your brother had warned you when you first started talking about him. You’d told him how you enjoyed his company, but it felt like he was hiding something.

“Just remember sis, if it feels like he’s hiding something he probably is.”

Oh how right you were...You thought to yourself as you walked toward him. He looked up at you taking the screw driver out of his mouth. He smiled a little when you stopped in front of him.

You chewed your bottom lip for a moment before you finally asked the question, “What now?”

He swallowed before looking down into his hands, “I don’t have much time left...I’m just...hoping this last hail mary will work.”

“And...” You frowned balling up your fist, “and if it doesn’t?

He looked up to you sighing sadly, “Then...I will...not exist.”

You stood there a moment before shaking your head, “No.”

“What?” His eyebrows shot up quickly.

“I won’t accept that.” You crossed your arms over your chest, “I won’t accept that you will just not exist when you have become such a pivotal part of my life.”

He stood up looking down at you, “I wish that was enough, Y/N...I wish...but if I can make myself part of time it’s self...Then it won’t matter...”

“But there’s no guarantee...” You looked up into his eyes again. You could see the fear behind them. He wasn’t sure of anything at this point, “I can’t lose you too. I don’t care what they say...it’s...it’s self-preservation...pretty much self-defense.”

“You don’t have to convince me.” He smiled putting his hands on your arms trying to calm you down before he frowned again, “But Y/N...I need you to listen...I took you with me because I wanted to get you away from them. Leaving you at STAR labs might have kept you safe...but...you should be able to go home.”

“I am not leaving you.” You interrupted him.

“Y/N, I never wanted...”

“I’m not going. If I only have a few more hours left with you then I’m either going to spend it with you helping...or...just...being near you.” You teared up adjusting his jacket, “You’re not telling me otherwise.”

He took your hands bringing them up to this lips kissing your fingers, “I love you.”

The ache in your chest swelled for a moment, “I love you too.”

He smiled, “I have to fix this...could do you do me a favor and get me some water so I can focus?”

You nodded and he watched you walk off. When you disappeared he turned to Caitlin who was lurking in the shadows after returning from searching for Cisco around the perimeter, “What?”

“You really do love her.” She sneered a little, “It’s surprising, with all the revenge talk I mean.”

He sat down looking at the wiring again, “Which is why she’s not coming with us when we go.”

“It case your plan doesn’t work?” She crossed her arms watching him tense up.

He looked over at her making her take a step back. For a moment she saw Barry ripple over his features, “I can’t risk her getting hurt.”

Caitlin stood there a moment as he returned his work. She sighed Killer Frost dropping away for a moment, “You know...there’s this new theory out there. The ‘Lover’s Time Paradox’.”

He paused briefly but continued to work as she went on, “It’s the theory that if a man loves two women he could have both. He would chose the one...then travel back in time...and choose the other. Living out side by side with his other self.”

“Sounds like a romantics thinking.” He told her quickly, “Besides I’ve considered that...my issue is that Iris didn’t die...Barry doesn’t create me...a remnant.”

“Of course...but couldn’t interacting so much with the timeline make it possible for you to become a permanent player?” She tilted her head.

“What do you mean?” He looked at her curiously.

“You’re going to be a father.” Caitlin looked at him and smirked seeing his eyes light up with many emotions, “I could be wrong...but I’ve had enough friends in the past to see the early signs.”

He stood up the screwdriver dropping from his hand as he moved to find you. He walked down the hall blood pumping in his ears hard and fast. He stopped when he saw you walking out of the break room of the warehouse holding an old coffee cup full of water.

You looked up at him and smiled, “Couldn’t wait?”

“I...are...” He took the cup from you placing it on an abandoned piece of equipment before looking at you again. You stared at him as he looked you over. Could it be possible? You certainly had been complaining of headaches...cramps...the usual sort of thing. You’d also been under a lot of stress with your father passing...

“What?” Concerned rippled over your features, “Allen...”

“Are you pregnant?” He asked bluntly. Your mouth hung open not answering him, “Are you?”

“I-I don’t know...I...” You flushed looking at him, “I’m late...I...I haven’t been feeling well...but...I’ve just...I haven’t taken a test. So...I...”

He stepped closer to you making you look down slightly. He put his finger under your chin lifting it to have you look at him, “But you could be?”

“It is...possible.” You swallowed staring into his eyes as his hand moved up to cup your face, “I...didn’t want to worry you.”

“I’m might be a dad?” He whispered smiling as your eyes lit up when you hear his delight.

“Yeah...yes.” You nodded leaning into his hand, “It’s why I need you to be here. Now more than ever...that’s why I need you to stay. I need you...we...need you.”

“...” He pulled you into a strong embrace shutting his eyes. He would give anything to tell you that he could stay...that he would be there for it all...but he couldn’t give you that hope.

There were no guarantees...

Which brought him to this point a couple hours later with only a small amount of time left, sitting at shitty dive bar on the edge of the city taking a shot that was useless.

“Reconsidering our offer...”

He turned looking at Barry, “If I said yes?”

Barry sighed, “You know I’d do what I can.”

“Good...regardless...I need you to do something for me.” Allen swallowed watching him carefully, “Iris, isn’t going to like it...but...I don’t care what she thinks anymore.”

Barry sighed waving the bartender away, “Is it away for you to stay?”

“No...I don’t think...” Allen looked away feeling Barry stare at him getting all the feelings he felt through his eyes, “There’s nothing that can be done for me...somethings changed.”

Barry’s eyes lit up, “What do you mean?”

“Y/N...” Allen looked at him again seeing Barry’s concerned, “We’re pretty sure she’s...pregnant.”

“What?” His younger self sat up straight.

“I need...I need you to play this out...” Allen looked at him pain in his eyes, “Please...I’m going to try my plan...if it doesn’t work, there’s no hope for me and I don’t know what’s going to happen to Y/N. I don’t know if everything will just...vanish or...what, there’s too many theories.”

Barry swallowed staring at him for a long time, “I’ll take care of her. I promise.”

Allen felt himself tear up remember the sincerity, “Thank you, Barry.”

“You should go...” Barry stood up, “You should spend as much time with her...”

Allen was gone before he finished leaving glasses spinning on tables. He had no intention of wasting more time. Either his plan would work or it wouldn’t...

You sat with your head in your hands. It had been a long…long day…You stood up in the cell they had kept you in. Apparently, things had escalated quickly. Something about a speed bazooka and Savitar being more aggressive…

You leaned against the wall again trying to wrap your head around everything. Iris and H.R. had come down trying to explain everything again a couple days ago. They brought pictures and proof…everything to prove that Allen was this…monster.

You couldn’t believe it still…you didn’t want to. You gave him your heart. Let him into your home…let him meet your family.

You wiped away a tear hearing your father’s voice, “Seems like a nice kid…you keep him around…”

You looked over as the door opened your mouth dropping open in surprise when you saw Barry. No scar...no anything…yet so familiar. You crossed your arms over your chest feeling yourself tear up, “What? Need to yell at me some more?”

“I need your help…” He sighed with a frown, “I never meant to hurt you. I know this can’t be easy to understand.”

“You think? You’re telling me that man I love is…is something…” You shook your head looking away, “What do you want?”

“I need…” He took in a deep breath reaching over to the door opening it, “I need you to be there for him. We hurt him in the future…so badly that…it drove him to all of this. Still he found you, and in the last couple of days I realized he found a light to hold on to.”

“If he’s so…evil…” You looked at him letting your arms fall to your sides, “why think I can help?”

“Because...I’m…still in him.” Barry looked at him, “He wants to have a family and friends. He wants to stop hurting…I want to help him. I want him to live a life…here…and he…he still remembers being me, and I’m sure he’s shared some of that with you. He wants to come home. Help me bring him home.”

You stared into those wonderful eyes of his for a long time before you nodded, “What do you need me to do?”

Barry smiled a little, “I just…need you to be here when I bring back. I’m not sure what’s going to happen…and I can’t promise that you’ll like what you see.”

You stepped out looking up at him, “I will do anything for him. I want you to know that.”

Barry’s mouth dropped open slightly as he stared down into your eyes. You watched his ears get red as he became flustered. When he turned away from you a thought occurred to you…if this Barry was flustered…did Allen meet you then or now?

You shook it off following him upstairs and into their main hub. Everyone seemed so sullen and finally Iris told you what had happened to HR after Barry had rushed off. You apologized because it was appropriate and because he had been the only real kind one.

It was when he walked in later that everyone truly froze in their spots. Following him slowly was Allen. You wanted to run to him. To embrace him but the way he moved stopped you.

He was like a cornered predator waiting to claw his way out. There was so much distrust and anger in his eyes. Then they landed on you and they softened showing the man you cared about briefly.

Sorrow…you saw so much sorrow. You took in a deep breath staring back at him. You both knew there was nothing that could be said that would make any of this easier.

“You make one move toward Iris.” Joe pointed at him.

Barry was quick to defend his future-self. In fact, he was trying to keep everyone calm as Allen moved around the room positioning himself between you and them. Allen was insisting that they show him how they would help him and then he would release their friends.

“This is bloody insanity…” Julian pointed at him as everyone began to shout. Barry again tried his best to keep everyone in line, but it war Iris who calmed everyone down by moving to Allen.

“Look at me…” Allen’s face held so much pain and shame. You remembered that he had told you he’d lost her…you just hadn’t realized he had killed her, “It’s okay…look at me.”

Allen looked up slowly as she reached up touch his face, “Now…look at her…”

He glanced over to you standing a few feet away before looking back to Iris. You could see the confliction in his eyes, “Iris…”

“We’re gonna help you, okay?” Iris let her hand fall away bringing it back to herself quickly. A reaction you didn’t like. You felt a burning sensation in your chest seeing how she used herself as a tool to draw him in. You wanted to warn him…tell him she wasn’t being 100% with him…but you also weren’t sure of anything anymore.

“…thank you…” He whispered quietly staring into her eyes.

Emotions where like a roller-coaster in the room. One moment rage was flying and wanting a fight to break out. The next moment sadness and sorrow wanted to bring long overdue apologies and regret to the surface…now we were back to rage as Tracy entered the room refusing to help Allen.

“I shouldn’t have come here.” Allen looked at Barry before looking to you again.

“No…we’ll get her to help us.” Barry watched him look at you before looking at Iris who stated she might know someone who could help.

Everyone moved their separate ways for a moment. Giving Allen a chance to walk over to you, “Y/N…”

“…” You shut your eyes making him stop, “…just…why me?”

You opened your eyes looking at him. His mouth opened and closed staring at you for a long time before it just shut. His shoulder slumped little as he reached for your hand but stopped himself as he whispered, “Because…you liked my jacket.”

You took in a deep breath putting your hands over your face, “Allen…I didn’t…”

“I know…” He whispered wanting to pull you into his arms he just didn’t know if it would be okay, “I screwed up by saying yes…by getting involved with you. I hurt you. You don’t…you never deserved any of this.”

You sniffed wiping your face with your hand as he went on, “But…Barry was right…I saw light in you. One that I’ve been missing for a while…and you gave me comfort. I just…I wanted a home again.”

“Allen…” You looked at him sadly, “You killed someone…you lied to me…”

“I know.” He nodded looking down at his hands, “I know…I can’t ask you to stay…I can’t ask you to ever forgive me, but I might not have a whole lot of time left and I need you to know…”

“Allen…” You shook your head.

“I do love you.” He looked at making you freeze, “I love you, Y/N.”

He smiled at you as he went on, “I’ve known for a while…and I’m even more horrible of person telling you after everything you’ve found out. I suck…”

You stood there in silence with him for a moment, “…you don’t suck…you just…have bad timing.”

He laughed a little when he saw you smile through more tears, “Y/N, I’m so sorry. I just…I just wanted to, to be. I didn’t want to be used and discarded…and I can’t make any of this better.”

“I can’t…” You stopped yourself getting choked up something, “Allen, I can’t even begin to fully understand any of this, but there has to be a way to keep you here.”

His heart skipped as you took his hand lightly in yours, “I…have a way…I just…it’s not easy.”

“Will people get hurt?” You whispered lacing your fingers with his.

“I hope not…but…” He stared your hand in his, “if Barry and the others have a way…”

“What if they don’t?” You looked at him concern falling over your features as you remembered Iris’ reaction earlier.

His eyes flashed to yours, “What do you mean?”

“Never mind…” You shook your head, “It’s nothing…”

“Y/N…” He put his finger under your chin getting you to look at him, “I trust you.”

“…I don’t…I don’t think everyone is as invested in this solution as much as Barry is…” You told him, “I know obviously there are those immediately hesitant…but…I don’t trust Iris.”

His eyes got wide, “What?”

“I think she’s playing you…” You frowned, “I can’t be sure…and I’m not going to lie it might be jealousy…but her body language…I just can’t shake his feeling.”

His hand cupped your face as he smiled at you. You had expected him to get angry with you for suggesting his former lover could be double crossing him somehow, “I…need you to be ready to leave.”

“What?” It was your turn to be surprised.

“I’m not going to leave you here.” He leaned down kissing your forehead, “I just…I trust your judgement over mine right now. So, be ready to leave, okay?”

He turned walking toward a computer that Barry was sitting at, “Is Iris back yet?”

“She should be soon.” Barry looked at him before glancing over to you, “She seems really nice.”

Allen glared at him slightly, “She’s more than nice.”

“Hm.” Barry looked at him, “You know what she said…about everyone being capable of change?”

“Yeah?” Allen crossed his arms over his chest.

“You believe it?” Barry stared at him carefully.

“You tell me.” Allen’s eyes narrowed on him.

“Then you already know the answer.” Barry smiled at him as he stood up, “I hope this works, for both your sakes.”

Allen watched him walk out into the hall as he whispered, “Me too…”

“Take care of it.” Barry through some onions into a pan, “I don’t care, just take care of it. I have to go.”

He hung up with Killer Frost. He’d forgotten how irritating she could be. He just needed to keep pushing her away from Caitlin.

He shook it off adding some seasoning to the pan. He was making you lunch and the constant interruptions of a doubtful lackey was slowing him down. She had one task, it wasn’t hard.

He stopped shutting his eyes letting out a frustrated sigh. This was why he didn’t take ‘work’ calls when he stayed with you. He wanted only positive feelings at your place, especially since he’d taken up residence with you.

He stirred the contents of the pan around glancing up a that tv. He found himself watching old movies while he waited for you to come home. He’d do small tasks that you’d complain about routinely but never had time to do. Dusting, dishes, hanging up decorations…

He just wanted you to be happy and seeing your eyes light up every time was worth it. He had thought recently you’d been rattle things off to test him. Cleaning the tile with a toothbrush and baking soda seemed a bit too much.

“Forgive the interruption of your regularly schedule view. It has been brought to our attention of a massive fire breaking out downtown Central City.”

He stopped what he was doing trying to remember a fire as the reporter went on, “Police are directing traffic away from Central City Music Hall as fire fighters fight to get to the remaining people inside...”

He felt his eyes get wide as his body just went forward. This couldn’t be happening…he wouldn’t let this happen.

His stopped in the Savitar suit looking around the blaze. He saw you shielding a couple from the orchestra under the piano. He rushed over to you, “I’m here to help.”

He could see the fear in all your faces but finally you nodded, “Them first.”

He began to shake his head but you pointed to them, “They have children, now go!”

It was like riding a bike, playing the hero. He took the two out quickly to a safe place and rushed back inside. He knelt looking at you, “Your turn.”

You stared at his outstretched claw before slowly reaching to take it. There was a creaking noise as you crawled out. He glanced up seeing the ceiling collapse over them. He moved quickly snatching you up only setting you down once you they were safe outside.

You leaned over hurling up the contents of the breakfast he’d made you. He tilted his head getting a new memory. The Flash was here.  He looked to you again wishing to stay but Barry could see him, “You’re safe now.”

“Wait…” You looked up at him but he was gone.

As you went to wipe your mouth you grabbed by a pair of red hands, “How do you know Savitar?”

“Wha…” You let you a yelp as you were pushed up to a nearby tree.

“Where is he!?” You stared at the Flash terrified.

“I...I don’t know!” You yelled at him. You could see how angry he was and you didn’t know how a hero could be so scary, “Please…you’re hurting me!”

He scowled before you swooshed away. This time you couldn’t keep your balance. You fell to your knees getting sick again.

“Whoa whoa whoa!” You heard someone behind you yell.

“What are you doing!?” Another voice as you looked up seeing yourself in some sort of lab.

“She knows something. He’s never saved anyone before now!” The Flash yelled at them.

“We don’t do this!”  You jumped when you felt a hand touch your back.

An older man in a scarf raised his hands in front of him apologetically, “Hey…whoa…I’m not going to hurt you.”

You felt tears coming to your eyes as you pushed away from him, “Where…where am I? What do you want from me?”

“Where…” The Flash stepped toward you.

“Stop!” A man with longer hair stepped between him and you. He looked back to you, “My name is Cisco and we are going to get you cleaned up while ass hat mcgee over here is going to cool off. HR will you take her some place…to…clean up and get a drink maybe.”

“Yeah yeah, of course.” HR stood up looking at you as he offered his hand to you, “Don’t worry you’re safe.”

The way he looked at you, you knew you were. You took his hand standing up walking next to him out into the hall as yelling erupted behind you. You let out a shuttered breath.

HR looked at you, “He’s not normally so angry. He’s just kind of…stressed out…but…it’ll be okay.”

“Did I do something?” You looked at him, “If it’s about the fire…I didn’t…I don’t know how it started.”

“It’s not about you doing something…more about you knowing someone.” He told you as you walked into a nicer looking room with just computers and chairs.

He walked over to a water cooler as you sat down, “Savitar?”

“Yeah…” HR walked back over to you holding out a cup and a few napkins, “yeah he’s a bad guy.”

“The giant man in a silver suit?” You started to wipe your pants off a little.

“Yeah…he’s trying to hurt people.” HR said quietly.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever seen him and he saved us. Like the Flash.” You looked at him, “If he’s a bad guy why would he do that?”

“We’re trying to figure that out.” HR smiled at you, “Until we can figure that out, you’ll be staying here for a bit.”

“I…I can’t do that I have people who will worry.” You stood up and he stepped in your way, “I won’t stay here. You can’t…”

“We just need some answers, and once our very stressed out friend has calmed down, we’ll ask them and you’ll go.” HR smiled, “Please, I won’t let him do that again. He won’t yell and he won’t speed you anywhere.”

You looked him in disbelief, “I…can I make a call?”

“I will ask them, until then…” He smiled clapping his hands together, “Do you like coffee?”

You sat there just listening to HR talk as he made you a coffee. He went on and on about how great the team was and defending the Flash. Seemed like forever, you just wanted to call Allen and tell him you were okay.

“Okay…” You looked up seeing this Cisco walk in followed by the Flash and young woman, “So first…”

“I’m sorry…I shouldn’t…” The Flash obviously didn’t apologize often, “I overreacted with everything that is going on. I’m very sorry.”

You wrapped your arms around yourself tightly staring at him. There was something familiar about him. Everything actually seemed familiar…the way he stood…the kept looking around, “Why am I here?”

“We’re hoping that you can help us piece things together.” The woman stepped forward, “I’m Iris and Savitar wants to kill me.”

“I don’t know who he is.” You looked at them all before landing back on the Flash, “Stop accusing me of something I don’t know.”

“Why would he protect you!?” He stepped forward as both Cisco and HR moved to your defense, “What about you makes him a better person?”

You stared at him as your heart fluttered. You felt tears come to your eyes as his voice tickled your ears, “Allen?”

It was the Flash’s turn to be surprised, “Wha…You do know him…where is he?”

“Bartholomew Allen…” You watched him take off his cowl and your hands went to your face immediately. He was different, but the same, “How…is…”

“Savitar…” Iris stepped forward taking Barry’s hand, “is Barry’s future self. One that is hellbent on destroying his happiness by killing me.”

You looked at her then down to your hands before shaking your head, “This…this isn’t…”

“It’s the truth.” Barry looked at you with the same look Allen would give you, “Please, if you know where he is help us. Help us stop him from hurting so many.”

“He doesn’t…” You shook your head, “He’s not like that…”

“He’s a monster!” Barry raised his voice.

“He changed!” You stood up looking at him, “He wouldn’t…”

“He has.” Barry cut you off again, “I have been to the future and he has. He kills the woman I love and with it Central City.”

“People change.” You teared up looking at him as he shook his head, “He is a good man and if he comes from you…”

“He isn’t…” Barry stared at you as you cut him off again.

“I cannot accept that you are right.” You told him tears going down your face, “I will not accept that the man who stayed with me for a week after my father died holding me as I cried, is a monster. I will not believe that he is unable to make a choice…to change. Like you…you changed that night over three years ago…the entire city changed that night.”

“It’s not simple…”

“It never is. If what you’re saying is true you should try to help him. Please...” You put your hands to your face again as you sobbed, “Please…I can’t lose him…”

Allen sat in your apartment tears going to down his face. He leaned forward putting a hand to his chest. It was like losing Iris all over again.

You were no longer just his. He shared you with his past and now you knew the future.

Everything was ruined…

Following the funeral, Barry, decided to stay with you a while. He helped with everything he could. Canceling trips, informing work, redirecting unwanted visitors. 

He glanced up looking over at you sitting at your piano staring out the window. You looked so sad and he wanted to see you smile again. 

Then there was the other thing...you had said that you loved him. Thankfully you fell asleep against him almost instantly because he didn’t respond. 

He held you that entire night letting those three words roll over in his mind. Over and over...He never thought he’d get this again.  Having a chance to love someone. Iris was still so real to him, every time this Barry created a new memory he felt it.

But it had been years and years since he’d actually faced her, and these past months with had softened his heart, but not his cause. He feared if you found out who he really was, what his intentions were that you would finally see that his soul matched his face. 

Twisted.

He put a cup of coffee down on the piano and held a plate of toast out to you, “You should eat.”

You smiled sadly at him taking a piece, “Thanks...”

“Of course.” He sat down on the stool next to you holding the plate, “I just wish I could do more.”

“You have...” You took in a deep breath letting it slowly, “been amazing Allen, I couldn’t ask for more.”

He gave you a small smile, “You know don’t have to go back today. No one would blame you for taking more time off.”

“I know...but I think it’s time.” You told him, “I gotta do something. I think if I stay in here I’ll just...wither.”

“Well we can’t have that.” He leaned over kissing your temple, “I’m gonna hang out here if that’s okay?”

“Of course.” You stood up looking at him, “You know you’re welcome here anytime.”

“It is certainly better then the crappy motel I stay in.” He smirked thinking about the warehouse his suit rested in, “More homey.”

“Well maybe we can think about making this more...permanent.” You said quietly, “You’re here all the time anyways.”

“You...” he perked up a little eyes twinkling, “You want me to move in?”

You smiled for the first time in a week, “Why not? This place is really too big for one person.”

“You’re sure you want to share?” He stood up putting the plate down on the stool.

“I don’t know.” You looked down at your hands for a moment as he stepped closer to you, “But I’m gonna jump anyways.”

He smiled taking your face into his hands, “I...”

You looked him and smiled seeing his struggle, “It’s okay...I know how you feel about me...when you can say it...you will.”

“You’re too good for this world.” He dropped his forehead to touch yours, “Too good for me.”

“Allen, everyone struggles with something. I know this still terrifies you, but your actions during...all of this...they say a lot.” You told him shutting your eyes, “So...I will keep the door open, until it needs to be closed. Which, I’m hoping very much that it won’t.”

He felt a warmth spread between his shoulders when you opened your eyes. There was so much hope in them. He wanted to believe in that hope. He wanted to dive into and let the waves envelope him turning it into reality.

You kissed him lightly before patting his chest with your hands, “I will see you later for dinner. Take out?”

“I’ll cook.” He told you shoving his hands into his pockets.

“You sure?” You walked backwards toward the door grabbing your keys from the bowl kitchen counter.

“You deserve a warm meal made from scratch.” He smirked, “I promise you’re gonna love it.”

“I’m sure I will.” You smiled at him before walking out.

He was hooked. Knowing that in your darkest moment he could bring that smile was all it took.

He loved you.

A few weeks passed and he had told you he might disappear for ‘work’ for a bit. In all actuality, he had been pulled away because of the notorious ‘Team Flash’. Too much needed to be done to ensure that everything fell into place.

He had scared Barry and it had felt so satisfying. There was nothing he could do to change this future. Nothing.

Now he had some time to focus on you, and he was looking forward to it.

He cleared his throat as he walked toward CC Studios. He stopped briefly catching his reflection in the glass door. He flexed his jaw reminding himself that you were different. You saw past the surface of his broken exterior and saw his true self.

The man he really was.

He ran a hand through his hair a few times before walking inside. He was hoping to surprise you with a cup of coffee and persuade you to go to lunch with him.

He walked into the studio slowly when he noted the recording light wasn’t on. He could hear a piano being played, but nothing else.

He smiled instantly as he saw you sitting at the keys. Your fingers moved over the ivory pieces in a fluid motion that brought life to the world around you.

He enjoyed the smile that played on your lips as you expertly played. You hadn’t noticed him yet, giving him a chance to move up behind you before your piece came to a close, “That was beautiful.”

He laughed when you jumped. You turned on the stool giving him a small smack, “Wear a bell!”

“That would not be as much fun.” He smirked leaning down grabbing your chin lightly before placing a kiss on your soft lips. His smile became genuine as he parted from you, “I brought you coffee.”

“My hero!” You smiled taking it from him, “It’s like you knew I needed a pick me up.”

“There’s lunch involved in this visit if you have time.”  He sat down next to you as you took a sip.

“Oh I wish I could.” You pouted holding the cup in your hands, “We a have a few shows coming up. One I have to travel for and my string section is struggling since our soloist got in a car accident because a pack of gorillas got loose.”

His eyebrows shot up trying to act surprised. He remembered the attack on the city, but it seemed so long ago, “Gorillas?”

“Yeah…” You made a face, “I’m not sure I believe the official statement that the zoo’s transport crashed outside the city either, but Flash and Kid Flash apparently swooped in and saved the day, so all is well.”

“All is well…” He repeated slowly his face falling briefly, “Anyways…so no lunch…”

“No lunch.” You smirked a little scooting closer to him, “But…I can promise a dinner date that you will enjoy immensely.”

“Oh yeah?” He smiled reaching up cupping your face with his hand.

You smiled kissing him. He loved the way your eyes squinted when you did that, “Oh yes…meet me at the park? Say seven?”

“Yes.” He nodded resting his forehead against yours, “Most definitely yes.”

“Now shoo. You’re too distracting.” You winked at him.

He stood up stretching, “I suppose I could get some work done. I do have a few small projects.”

“Good, that means when I get done with this we will have more time together.” You smiled at him eyes twinkling, “Less projects for you means more time with me.”

“I like the sound of that.” He leaned down pecking your cheek quickly, “I’ll see you at seven.”

The day’s events went just as he planned. Wally was right where he wanted him. Soon he’d go and release Savitar sending his past self on the path he needed to begin to truly destroy Barry.

He took a deep breath shaking off his past preparing for his future. He stopped to get some flowers across the street from the park. He turned a smile on his face and a spring in his step. Tonight, was going to be a good night.

He walked toward the bench were you first approached him. He paused seeing you sitting there, knees pulled to your chest, face buried in your arms. The flowers dropped from his hands.

As they hit the ground he was at your side, “Y/N…”

You felt his hands take hold of you as you looked up at him tears falling down your face, “Allen…”

“What happened?” Concern rippled over his features as he took your face into his hands.

“My dad…” You shut your eyes tightly big tears falling against his palms, “M..my dad…”

“Oh god…” He pulled you to his chest holding you tightly. He knew this pain too well. He didn’t know how long he held you on that bench and it didn’t matter.

Eventually, he brought you home. He’d gotten you to eat a little then put you to bed. Now he was on the phone with your brother Scott, “She’s resting…if there’s anything you need just let me know. I want to help.”

He scratched the back of his head as Scott took a deep breath, “I…I appreciate it. I think if you could just stay with her…I’ll…I’ll try to get everything…”

“Scott…” He interrupted him swallowing, “I know…what it’s like and you shouldn’t be doing this alone. Is there anything at all I can do? Anyone I can call?”

“I…my girlfriend is on her way.” Scott told him going silent, “I just…he was dad.”

“I know.” Barry nodded, “I know…the loss will never go away…but does get better over time. Just give me a call, I’ll be at Y/N’s. For anything, I mean it.”

He hung up the phone putting it back on the hook before he turned seeing you on the stairs, “Hey…”

You sniffed wiping a hand under your eyes, “Hey…”

“Do you need anything?” He asked taking a few steps toward you.

You shut your eyes shaking your head, “No…”

He reached up taking your hand, “You sure?”

“No…” You voice quivered as you teared up again. He guided you down the stairs into his arms, “I don’t know how to do this…”

He rubbed your back as you leaned your head on your shoulder, “No one ever does.”

He picked you up easily carrying you over to the couch. He sat down holding you on his lap. He could only be there for you.

“You know…” He glanced down at you seeing your eyes were closed as you spoke, “I…don’t think I could do this without you.”

“You’re strong. You would’ve managed.” He told you surprised when you opened your eyes looking at him, “What?”

“I’ve never been strong.” You whispered looking away, “Snarky maybe…but…not strong. I can’t snark this away.”

“Don’t say that.” You looked back to him. He shook his head helping you sit up some, “Don’t ever say that. You are so strong and brave. It took so much courage to talk to me that day. It took so much strength to let me into your home, meet your family. To meet your dad, who from all the stories he told me, is where you learned to be strong.”

You felt yourself beginning to cry again as he went on, “So don’t ever say that you’re not strong because you are a woman who has loss a parent. You’re a daughter, who dealt with a parent deciding to leave instead of raising them. You get up every day and provide for yourself, that alone makes you strong. You-”

Your lips crashing down on his made him stop. He pulled away looking at your face smiling a little, “Thank you. Thank you for caring.”

He smiled nodding, “Of course, I care about you, Y/N. You make me a better person.”

His heart fluttered in his chest as you settled against, “I love you, Allen.”

His mouth hung open a little unable to answer. For once…he couldn’t keep up with his thoughts…they were too fast.

Imagine Allen (Savitar) and you working out together...

It had become a nightly ritual for the pair of you. You had expressed to Allen how much you wanted to get fit despite him saying that you were wonderful the way you were. Finally he relented signing up for a 24 hour gym in the area.

You smirked a little catching him glancing at you again, “See something you like?”

He tilted his head watching you lift the weights over your head again, “I most certainly do.”

You began to lowering the weights slowly looking over at him, “And?”

“And...” He walked up behind you slinking his hands down your sides as your hands  raised the weights again. He pressed his mouth against your ear, “I’d like to go home and get you out of these sweaty clothes...”

You kept the weights in the air as he kissed your neck, “Allen...”

“Yes...” You spun around between his hands letting the weights fall to your side.

You smirked, “Take me home.”

The weights dropped to floor as a the occupants of the gym felt a small breeze giving them a small relief during their workouts.

“That is not true!” He smiled as you stood up holding a dvd in your hand.

“I can’t help that Monty Python is over quoted and over done.” He told you.

“But this is the Holy Grail. Everyone likes the Holy Grail.”  You shook the dvd case in front of him.

“I’m not everyone.” He smirked.

“Fine, what movie is the best to you?” You crossed your arms. He opened his mouth to speak but the sound of someone at the door stopped him. You moved to go answer it but his legs stayed stretched out resting on the table in the way, “Dude…”

“Pay the toll.” He smirked as you nudged his legs again.

“There’s someone at my door. Move.” You smiled at him.

“Pay…the toll.” He said slowly his face not changing as you rolled your eyes, “They’re going to be waiting a really long time…”

“Oh my god, you’re ridiculous.” You leaned down giving him a kiss. He let you pass walking for the door.

He leaned his head back watching you. After a few days of getting somethings in order for his plan to work, he’d taken you to dinner. He had concluded that he was a god, he should be able to get what he wanted.

He felt happier than he had in many years. In the cage, he had been so consumed…He shook it off when he heard you speak, “Dad? Hi! What are you doing here? Did I miss a call?”

He watched you hug an older gentleman as he stood up listening, “Oh I was in the area and thought I’d stop by to catch up, but I see I’m interrupting.”

“Right…no you’re fine. I actually…I want you to meet him.” You smiled looking over to Allen, “Dad, this is…uh…well this Bartholomew Allen, and this is my dad, John.”

“Bartholomew, don’t hear of many of those.” John reached out his hand to him.

“And that’s why everyone calls me Allen.” Allen took his hand, “It’s nice to meet you.”

“Yeah…You must be the mystery guy she’s mentioned, but never reveals.” John smirked and it was then that he could see the resemblance.

“Dad…” You blushed a little shutting the door.

“What? I gotta embarrass you when I can. You’re always so busy now.” He walked over to one of the bar stools in the kitchen taking a seat.

“I find it hard to believe that Y/N gets embarrassed.” Allen crossed his arms smirking at you.

“Please don’t get him started….” You whispered scratching your forehead.

“You know I might be old.” Your father looked at you both, “But I still can hear.”

The next few hours were spent in good conversation and laughter. He’d gotten you to laugh before but the way your father made your eyes crinkle, it was something special. The more time he spent with you them more he realized how much he’d forgotten how to live.

“I love you peanut.” John whispered kissing your head as you lingered holding onto him.

“I love you too dad.” You smiled letting go finally.

“It was really good to meet you sir.” Allen held out his hand.

John took his hand firmly, “You seem alright Allen…take good care of my girl.”

“I’ll do my best.” Allen smiled stepping closer to you noticing your cheeks flush.

“You two have a good night.” John turned to the door opening, “Oh and Allen…”

“Yes sir?” He stood up straight as John looked back at him.

“It’s the Holy Grail…” John smiled a little, “Sometimes watching it with the right person gives you a better perspective. Have a good night.”

Allen looked at you smirking at him, “So I take it…”

“We are totally watching that movie.” You laughed wrapping your arms around his neck, “Thanks for not running away.”

“He’s your dad, it was bound to happen. Though I do wish I would have had a little prep time.” He said placing his hands on your hips as you leaned up kissing him.

“Well you did great.” You moved your hands to his chest give him a pat, “You get comfy, I’m gonna make some popcorn.”

He pulled you back to him as you stepped away. When you looked to his face you saw him biting his lower lip in a mischievous way, “So I know of a few places that I can get comfy here, you’re going to have to get more specific.”

“Oh well…I mean…we could go about anywhere you want.” He smirked drawing closer to him, “Did you have a favorite place in mind?”

You yelped as he scooped you up into his arms heading for the stairs, “I do.”

You smiled a while later you moved resting your chin on his chest staring up at his face. He smiled at you before reaching over brushing hair from your face, “You are so beautiful.”

“Thanks.” You blushed a little leaning into his hands, “You know, I could get real used to this.”

“To what?” He asked letting his thumb rub against your cheek absently.

“Waking up next to you.” You watched him smile more. You moved to your knees looking at him for a moment before swinging your legs off the bed.

“Where you going?” He moved with you letting his hand trail up your bare back as you searched for something to put on from the floor.

“I am going to make us something to eat. We never had dinner.” You looked back him.

“It’s midnight…stay in bed.” He stared at him.

“3.”

“What?”

“2.”

“Y/N?”

“1.”

His stomach let out a loud low rumble, “Uh…”

“I’ll be back.” You pulled on your robe before leaning down giving him a kiss, “Just relax.”

Relax. He sighed watching you disappear from view letting his head rest against the pillows. Yeah…he could get used of this too.

You came back with some hefty looking sandwiches. He took his as you set yours on the bed walking over to the small tv, “No…really?”

You looked back at the whining man, “This movie is happening…even if we fall asleep watching it.”

He sighed before taking a bite thinking back to what your father had said to him, which got him thinking about her father in general, “Hey can I ask you something?”

“Of course you can.” You sat down picking up your sandwich.

“Your dad…” He looked at you as the movie started in the background, “He’s…sick?”

You took in a breath nodding slowly, “Yeah…cancer.”

“I’m sorry…” You looked at him as he put his sandwich on the bedside table, “It’s bad isn’t it?”

“He’s doing okay, but…doctors aren’t hopeful.” You told him frowning, “You could tell?”

“I’ve been around sick people…” He told you, “He seems like a healthy guy…is it genetic?”

“Uh actually no.” You picked at your sandwich, “You’re right he’s really healthy…was…but three years ago he was at work and that …thing blew up. You know the science thing STAR Labs.”

He listened as you went on, “He was affected like those special people, but…instead of getting fast or…cool powers. His genes mutate too fast I guess. The doctors have tried radiation, surgeries…it always comes back.”

He shut his eyes frowning, “Y/N…I don’t…”

“It’s okay.” You looked at him, “My brother and I we’ve come to terms and so has my dad. Doesn’t make it much easier but…well…you can’t change it.”

“Y/N…you know if you need anything…ever.” He trailed off.

You smiled scooting closer to him looking at the tv, “I know…”

He put his arm around you. The pair of you fell silent watching the film. He smiled every time you started to mutter some line.

Your dad was right…sometimes perspective can change with the people you’re around.
