Squad for the first two Tests v Sri Lanka starting on 26 December:
Faf du Plessis (capt), Kyle Abbott, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Stephen Cook, Theunis de Bruyn (debut), Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Dean Elgar, Keshav Maharaj, Wayne Parnell, Vernon Philander, Kagiso Rabada
** Theunis de Bruyn has been added to the squad, and Rilee Rossouw, AB de Villiers, Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn were not considered due to injury. Faf may still miss the match if his penalty is increased at the appeal hearing on 19 December.
