You ever think that during saw 6 while Hoffman was trying to single handedly set up the entire series of traps for the insurance guy that John had planned, forcing the guy to watch as almost everyone around him died just for them to reveal at the end that he had a sister, his only family, and then she had to watch him be brutally killed, that Hoffman ever felt like Kramer was mocking him from beyond the grave?

Wow.

If I had a nickel for every time a movie in the Saw franchise had a lesson about how (in the words of the late great Mischa Bachinski) “it is morally sick to make dollar off dying man”, I would have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

After finishing Saw 6 I feel a little conflicted about the reveal that Hoffman bribed Amanda into killing Lynn.

before this reveal I had actually been thinking about Hoffman’s character development and how none of the female characters except for Amanda (and Jill I suppose, but I didn’t know that then) even came close to the same kind of development we see in Hoffman.

Amanda had her own arc but most of her actions were for the male characters around her. Defying John and killing Lynn (however unwise it turned out to be) was the only decision that she really made by herself and for herself. Taking that decision away from her and putting it in Hoffman’s hands takes away a big part of her story in my personal opinion, especially since what he was bribing her with—her being semi-responsible for the death of John and Jill’s unborn child—is a huge development in the story that gets almost no attention because everyone involved is already dead except Jill

Amanda saying “get used to me I’m not going anywhere” before dying like 6 hours later is wild

“maybe you should stick with the heavy lifting” girl, shut up. I bet hanging out with her as another apprentice would succck. She’s probably the most jealous person in the world over any attention John pays anyone but her (facts: we saw how she reacted to him and Lynn). But then she gives Mark the caveman comment and grins? Almost giggles? Is she playing? Is she teasing?
