december 22nd was the second anniversary of my first retyrement AU post! thanks so much to everyone for following it thus far, and for an amazing 2023 overall! it's been really wonderful making art for all of you, and i hope to keep up steam in the new year!

though OLD_FOLKS HOME's posting anniversary on ao3 isn't until february 16th next year, i wrote a fun little oneshot for the occasion! it's a little fanservice-y romp i've been thinking of writing for awhile ^^ i hope you enjoy it, and that it tides you over until the next OFH arc! you can find it on ao3 right here

Not sure if you know this, but I just found out that canonically, Sawyer Patel is a 70 year old man according to their gravestone. Just wondering if you knew this since you called them the youngest child of Grimora's family, if not. Get cursed with the knowledge

lmao i'm well aware of that little hiccup! when i was originally conceiving of the AU with my buddy that was one of those pesky little canon details i decided to ignore for the sake of cleaner storytelling; i believe royal is similarly middle-aged in canon and i aged him down a bit too bc it's just more amusing to me that way lol

there's not really a justification for why sawyer's much younger in-universe, though your ask did send me on an itty bitty mental tangent about it; perhaps sawyer has a grandpa (grimora's much younger brother perhaps) who was also named sawyer, and that guy's story is a bit closer to canon

though if this theoretical older sawyer had the usual attacked-by-a-dog deal that would be a hell of a coincidence, since i gave grandkid sawyer a scar on their eyebrow to imply they also had a run-in with a dog lol; all this said i'll probably keep things simple, seeing as sawyer's not too big a character in the AU anyhow

yeah more or less! though my true intentions with him have kind of a silly twist. coincidentally, i received this ask when i was almost finished with my fifth chapter, which centers around grimora doing a big ol bone lord seánce, so i'll just drop it right here and you can check it out! rest assured he is here, but anything concretely spooky from the game is probably going to be re-imagined twice as silly as everything else in this AU haha
