A homecoming for Sawyer meant that the man would be back in the swing of things and back in the inner circle. The pair had a bit of a bond, considering they both knew far too much about the woes of the environment of the prison. Prior to Sawyer entering the system, Seth had ensured that he reached out to those he knew that were still inside and tried his best to ensure that the man was well taken care of. If that happened? Well, he didn’t know much and he knew it was better not to ask— not to think about the years you’d wasted in the enclosed space, knowing that the world was going on without you. Seth had lost the girl that he thought he might end up with, he lost time with his mother who would only live long enough to see her son get out of prison and buy a house, his successes now a mystery except only to her ghost. Seth understood it all, eight years had truly changed him, so he knew the homecoming for Sawyer would only ever be bittersweet seeing all the ways life had moved on without him.
From the other side of the Clubhouse, Seth sees Sawyer enter, bringing a quick and easy smirk to his face. “You keep on gettin’ uglier, don’t you?” he asks him, a clear taunt from a friend. “How’s the world been? You figurin’ shit out?” he adds.
