In my (amateur and probably fractured) #Arabic, I attempted to be welcoming by saying #assalaamualaikum which is #PeaceBeUponYou. The ladies return the greeting at the end before I return to weather duties. Saying hello, being inviting and open, wishing to be a blessing to those around you is one way to fight back against hatred, bigotry and intolerance. As a Christian, this is my duty, my charge, my responsibility to be as loving and kind and caring to others, even when they are different than me.
