Repost from @paulnicklen Last month, over 115,000 of you signed our petition to #BanDeathNets and it's clear that governments are listening. On May 30, the California Senate passed #SB1017, a bill that will transition California away from driftnets, 32-0. Though this is fantastic news for Pacific coast marine wildlife, the fight isn't over yet. The bill still needs approval in the Assembly to become law.
