training camp

Sebastian and Luke walked into the Devils arena after being away for the past few months for offseason and Sebastian squeezed Luke’s arm as Luke was heading to the trainers and Sebastian was heading to the locker room and than workout room.

Sebastian walked into and he perked up a little seeing Seamus sitting in a stall, “Shea!” Sebastian walked over to Seamus and ruffled his head. Sebastian had really grown to like Seamus when they played together and was pretty excited hearing Seamus would be at training camp.

“Seb!” Seamus happily beamed and got up hugging Sebastian tightly. Seamus has always really looked up to Sebastian and loves playing with Sebastian as Sebastian is such an incredible defenseman and Seamus loves learning from Sebastian.

Sebastian wouldn’t admit it to anyone but maybe Luke but Seamus is the closest thing Sebastian has ever had to a youngest sibling.

Sebastian stayed with Seamus as they got ready for the weight room and Seamus followed right on Sebastian’s heels as they headed to the weight room and started their workout with some of the team.

Luke came into the weight room a little while after once he finished his appointment and sat down on the coach in the room admiring Sebastian lifting weights and cursed his shoulder for stopping him from doing somethings he wants to do with Sebastian right now.

Luke shook his head getting rid of some of those thoughts and watched as Sebastian helped Seamus with weight with a very kind and patient face that Luke doesn’t see on Sebastian often in public around others.

Luke knew out of all of the younger player on the Umich hockey team Sebastian has always liked Seamus the most. Luke knows the soft side that Seamus has reminds Sebastian a lot of himself and Sebastian try’s to protect Seamus.

Luke was so focused on watching Sebastian with Seamus he didn’t even realize Nico had walked in with the media team filming a TikTok.

Luke looked up surprise and waved at Nico before turning his attention back to Sebastian.

Sebastian clapped his hand on Seamus shoulders once they finished a workout and he headed over to Luke.

Sebastian sat down next to Luke on the couch drinking some water, “Ready to go home to see Daisy?” Sebastian softly asked seeing Luke looking ready to go home.

They have only had Daisy for a few days but they have quickly both fell in love with her and she fits in their little family perfectly.

Luke nodded wanting to be back home in their bed cuddling with Daisy.

“I’m almost done.” Sebastian reassured him resting his hand on Luke’s thigh slightly.

Sebastian and Luke shared a sad look as they looked at their team and Alex and John were no longer here. It was a tough time learning they were both being traded away as Sebastian and Luke had gotten extremely close to both of them and it was the first time either of them dealt with a teammate being traded.

Sebastian squeezed Luke’s thigh as they both tried not to think about how they missed Alex and John.

“What do you think of letting Shea staying with us?” Sebastian lowered his voice as he asked Luke watching Seamus sitting down next to Simon and the two talking.

Luke titled his head having truthfully already thought about it, “He’s more than welcome too.” Luke wouldn’t mind at all having Seamus stay with them.

Luke and Sebastian didn’t know if Seamus was staying in the NHL after preseason finished but they would rather he didn’t have to stay in hotel that long and they had more than enough guest rooms.

“We can talk to him tomorrow then.” Sebastian nodded and squeezed Luke’s leg before getting up, “I’m almost done and we can go home.” Sebastian pressure gently seeing Luke’s tired eyes.

Luke nodded and curled up more on the couch resting his head on the back of the couch closing his eyes.

Sebastian finished up his last workout after a little and walked back over to Luke seeing him fast asleep. Sebastian left real quick and grabbed his sweatshirt from his stall and draped it over Luke before heading into the showers.

Sebastian took a quick shower before tossing on comfortable clothes and groaned slightly seeing the reporters waiting by his stall. He took a deep breath rolling his eyes as he walked by and sat down in his stall.

Sebastian answered all the questions as quick as he could and he cracked a small smile as Amanda asked a few questions about Daisy at the end of the interview.

He let out a long sigh as he left his stall and he grabbed his few things and headed back to the workout room seeing Luke still peacefully sleeping.

Sebastian kneeled down in front of the couch his hand running across Luke’s curls, “Lu.” Sebastian softly cooed and Luke stirred slightly, “Come on Lu let’s go home.” Sebastian cooed again and Luke eventually slowly woke up rubbing his face.

Sebastian helped Luke stand up and Luke happily held Sebastian’s hoodie in his arm as he leaned against Sebastian as they walked out of the arena and to their car.

Sebastian helped Luke unit the car and buckled the seatbelt for him and Luke used Sebastian’s hoodie as a pillow as Sebastian got into the car and started the quick drive home.

Luke had fallen asleep again and Sebastian didn’t want to wake him up so he got out of the car and gently picked Luke up and Luke barely moved only cuddling closer to Sebastian.

Sebastian carried Luke to their apartment and opened the door and saw Daisy waiting patiently but tail wagging in her pen, “One second Daisy girl.” Sebastian softly spoke to his puppy as he walked down the hallway and into their bedroom.

Sebastian gently set Luke down in their bed and took his shoes off for him and covered him with blanket beside he headed back into the living room seeing Daisy waiting.

Sebastian sat on the ground and opened the pen door and Daisy immediately ran out and into his lap into his arms licking his face, “Hi lovely.” Sebastian cooed softly.

Sebastian took Daisy outside before they came back inside and joined Luke in bed. Daisy licked Luke’s cheek beside curling up next to him as Sebastian laid down in bed next to them making Luke cuddle to him.

The Umich Hockey team was getting up about to head out onto the rink about to play the Frozen Four game against Quinnipiac.

Sebastian stood up and saw Luke across the room still sitting on his stall and fiddling with his gloves. Sebastian walked over letting everyone else walk out and the room was empty besides Luke and him.

He sat down next to Luke and put his arm around Luke bringing him into his side, “I know my love.” Sebastian mumbled comforting Luke kissing the top of his curls. Sebastian knew how nervous Luke was for this game because so was he. If they lose they were leaving tonight to head to New Jersey and signing their entry level contracts.

“I’m gonna be sick.” Luke mumbled resting his head against Sebastian’s chest listening to the even sound of his heartbeat and taking slow deep breaths. Luke has never been this nervous for a game before but this game was a lot in general and adding the pressure of the signing and joining the NHL after put a lot more pressure on it.

“I know.” Sebastian and pressed another soft and long kiss to the top of his head, “Let’s go out and enjoy this.” Sebastian gently stood up and held out a hand for Luke to take.

Luke grabbed his hand and stood up and looked at Sebastian’s soft and comforting eyes and reassuring smile and took a deep breath breath and nodded dropping his boyfriend’s hand.

Sebastian and Luke walked through the halls and jumped onto the ice warming up their team not knowing it would be the last time.

The game started and it was tense from the start, the first period started and Quinnipiac scored first and then Seamus got a goal making the score a tie before Quinnipiac scored once more before the period was over.

Luke knocked his helmet against Sebastian’s as they stepped back onto the ice for the second period.

Luke passed to Sebastian who passed the puck to Adam leading to Adam scoring a goal and making the score tie once more.

Sebastian and Luke shared one more soft look as they stepped back onto the ice for the third period.

Luke passed the puck to Sebastian making him shoot the puck and getting a goal, and making Michigan lead for the first time all night.

“Let’s go baby.” Luke cheered as he knocked his helmet against Sebastian’s smiling widely as they celebrated the goal.

The happiness didn’t last long.

A few minutes later Quinnipiac scored again. And again.

Michigan lost 3-5 to Quinnipiac.

Sebastian watched as Luke tried to hurry off the ice towards the bench and quickly realize what was wrong, he rushed over grabbing the bucket and held it for Luke while blocking him from all of the fans and camera.

“Sssh let it all out.” Sebastian softly cooed and gently rubbed Luke’s back as he puked into the trash can Sebastian was holding. Sebastian was just as upset as Luke but was better at hiding it.

Luke went to try to speak but Sebastian just gently shushed him understanding how upset he is.

Sebastian gently wiped off Luke’s face and grabbed his water leading him down the rest of the tunnel and through the halls catching up with their teammates.

Sebastian sat with Luke in his stall not wanting to leave Luke alone and not wanting to be away from Luke.

Mark pouted and walked over sitting on the floor in front of Sebastian and Luke leaning his head on Sebastian legs, Ethan looked over and quickly walked over sitting down next to Mark on the floor. Mackie was sitting on the other side of Sebastian and Dylan sitting on the other side of Luke.

Sebastian could honestly say he had no idea what their coach said as he was just playing with Luke’s fingers the whole time.

Players started slowly shuffling to the showers and Luke gently stood up and pulled Luke with him. Sebastian wished he could shower with Luke but knew he couldn’t hear so he guided Luke to a shower and took the one next to him.

Sebastian quickly took a shower and threw on a pair of sweatpants and t-shirt, he waited outside the showers for Luke, who did take the longest out of everyone and most of the team was back in the locker room already.

Luke looked sadly towards Sebastian and could tell his boyfriend was struggling too, Luke walked over and pulled him into a gentle but tight hug letting Sebastian burry his head into Luke’s neck. Luke could feel the shaky sigh he let out.

“Me and you?” Sebastian soflty mumbled against Luke’s neck.

“Me and you always.” Luke reassured him and pressed a kiss to the side of his head and reluctantly let Sebastian go and stand back up.

They shared one more look before heading back into the locker room that was just a sad atmosphere, The two saw their suitcases that they brought by their stalls with their hockey bags all packed up completely.

Sebastian let the freshman tackle him into a hug and he fondly rolled his eyes but group hugged all of them back, he wouldn’t admit but they all grew on him.

Luke was saying his goodbyes to the older players before Sebastian came over and Luke went to their freshman group.

Once Luke and Sebastian said their goodbyes to almost the whole team expect their grade, Mackie, Dylan, Ethan and Mark.

Mark lunged forward and tightly hugged one of his best friends, “Don’t be a stranger alright.” Mark mumbled as he tightly hugged Sebastian.

“Never.” Sebastian promised hugging back someone he’s always going to consider a best friend.

Dylan and Luke were hugging each other tightly. Mackie and Ethan watched sadly.

Mark reluctantly let go of Sebastian and let Mackie and Ethan hug him at the same time.

Sebastian let out a fond sound and hugged the two tightly back.

Mark walked over and hugged Luke tightly, “Take care of him?” Mark whispered.

“Always.” Luke promised, once he was jealous of the relationship between Sebastian and Mark but he realized Mark and Sebastian understand each other in a way no one else does and Luke knows now that the two are truly just platonic, platonic soulmates.

Dylan walked over and pulled Sebastian into a tight hug, Dylan took a deep breath trying not to cry as he was saying his goodbyes to his two best friends, not sure when they would see each other again.

“Thank you.” Sebastian mumbled hugging Dylan back, Dylan was surprising but he crept into Sebastian’s heart and became needed Sebastian knew he always needed.

“Always bud.” Dylan sadly mumbled back and reluctantly let go of him.

Dylan and Sebastian looked over seeing Luke just getting out of the hug with Mackie and Ethan.

Sebastian and Luke shared a look and nodded they both turned around and grabbed their bags. The two started walking out of the room and looked back once more at the team before starting to walk away.

Luke and Sebastian both nodded many goodbyes to Michigan staff as they walked through the arena and to the outside where the car was waiting to take them to the airport.

They gave the bags to the driver and Sebastian opened the door letting Luke hop in first, Sebastian got in after him shutting the door.

Luke gently grabbed Sebastian’s hand and fiddled with his fingers the whole drive to the airport, Sebastian leaned against the window looking out the car the whole time and gently rubbing Luke’s hand with his thumb.

They thanked the driver and headed through the airport, through security and headed to their gate, they got there just at the plane was boarding and walked right on.

Sebastian let Luke take the window seat as he put their hockey bags in the overhead before sitting in the middle seat and putting the arm rest up between them. Luke held onto Sebastian’s hand tightly as they sat there waiting for the plane to take off. Lucky for them no one sat next to them and it was just the two of them in the row.

Luke let out breath he was nervous but he had Sebastian and that made all the fears go away because no matter what he had Sebastian with him.

Sebastian scooted and found a comfortable position and rested his head on Luke’s shoulder closing his eyes.

Luke let his head fall onto of his boyfriend’s head and closed his eyes.

Sebastian slowly woke up at the shake and felt the plane landing on the ground, he opened his eyes and looked at the screen seeing they just landed in New Jersey.

“Lu baby.” Sebastian gently cooed running a hand through his curls softly, Luke mumbled shuffling closer to his boyfriend warmth, “Come on we landed.” Luke slowly peaked his eyes opened and nodded lifting his head up and rubbing his face.

Sebastian stood up and grabbed their bags for them and let Luke walk down the row first and off the plane.

They headed down the pick up their checked bags and quickly grabbed them and walked through the airport to the outside where Jack was picking them up.

Jack was waiting in the pick up lot and smiled widely as he saw the two walking to him, he was ecstatic when Luke got drafted to the Devils and it only became better when Sebastian was drafted too. Jack has know Sebastian for so long now he’s become a younger brother to Jack. And Jack has always been glad how good of a best friend Sebastian has always been to Luke.

Jack and Luke quickly hugged other tightly, Jack softly ran his hand through his bag brothers curls before reluctantly letting him go and pulling Sebastian into a hug as well.

Sebastian bent down slightly and hugged Jack back, Sebastian would never admit it to anyone besides Luke but Jack is someone he sees as a brother and so is Quinn.

“Come on let’s get you guys home.” Jack giddy smiled, he helped them put all of their bags into the car and then the two hoped into the backseat while Jack drove them.

Jack had recently moved before the start of the season to a a lot bigger apartment, with alot of extra rooms and space because he knew the two would stay with him at least a year and he wanted to be able to have alot of guests but be able to let any other teammates stay with him.

Sebastian had wanted to get his own apartment with Luke but Jack all but begged that two would stay with him at least for a season as he wanted them to stay with him so badly.

Sebastian knew that Luke missed his brother and he did miss Jack too so it wasn’t hard for Jack to convince them to live with him.

Jack yapped for the whole drive back and pulled into the parking garage, he parked the car and they all got out.

Luke and Sebastian grabbed their bags and followed Jack through the building and elevators up to the floor, Jack led them down the hallway and to the apartment door and opened the door.

They walked in after Jack, Jack lead them down a hallway, “Here this is a Jack and Jill rooms so i thought they would work good for you too? And my rooms across the apartment.” Jack opened the door to one of the rooms and led them in.

“It’s all good Jack thank you.” Luke smiled patting his brother on the shoulder.

“Alright i’ll let you to settle in.” Jack smiled once more and walked out of the room closing the door behind him.

Sebastian walked to the bathroom and opened the second door and it connected to his room, which was convenient for them. As Jack still has not realized that Sebastian and Luke are together.

Luke walked through their bathroom into Sebastian room and grabbed his hand pulling him to the bed, Luke pushed his boyfriend onto the bed and quickly climbed on top of him and laying down on him.

Sebastian just wrapped his arms around Luke and gently played with his curls.

Luke let out a long breath and held onto Sebastian tighter.

finding out

April 15, 2024

Sebastian and Luke were in the car after their last rookie NHL game and were driving back to the apartment to eat and get changed and go out once more with this team.

Sebastian shook his head fondly not suprised Luke had started eating on their drive home, Luke leaned over and offered Sebastian a bite off his fork and Sebastian leaned over taking a bite of the pasta and hummed at the taste.

Sebastian drove with his one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting in its normal spot on Luke’s thigh.

Luke was happily munching on his food and continued to give bites to Sebastian as he drove them home and that means he gets to have some of Sebastian’s food when they get home.

Sebastian pulled them into the parking garage and they grabbed their bags of food and headed up to the apartment.

Sebastian opened the door and let Luke walk in and he closed the door behind him.

Jack who was chilling on the couch looked up when he heard the door and saw his brothers.

Sebastian set the bags of food on the table and shook one at Jack. Sebastian pulled out the box of food for Jack and opened the lid for him and he walked to the fridge and grabbed a yellow gatorade that had already been opened as Sebastian opened all the bottles in the fridge for Jack.

Sebastian set the drink on the counter next to Jack’s food and Jack had walked over and was sitting down on the seat already digging in the food.

“Thanks Sebs.” Jack mumbled gratefully, Jack was not gonna lie he hates being hurt but this year with his injury it’s been the easiest yet having Sebastian and Luke. They don’t let Jack sulk and make him get up and keep going and they always help him where he rarely needs to ask.

Sebastian nodded and plopped down next to Luke and started eating his food, Sebastian saw Luke’s pout towards him and saw Luke had no food left and reluctantly slid his box closer to Luke so he can have some.

Jack let out a chuckled watching as Luke’s pout changed to bright smile once Sebastian offered his food. Jack knows that Luke has Sebastian wrapped around his finger and he doubts there isn’t anything Sebastian wouldn’t do for Luke.

The three all finished up eating and Sebastian threw away all the trash. Luke and Sebastian headed to their bedroom to get changed and Jack just went to his bedroom to grab a hat as he is alreadly dressed.

Sebastian let out a sigh of relief pulling off his suit, it’s one of the few things he hates about playing hockey is having to wear a suit. Sebastian threw on a pair of blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a gray hoodie with a pair of white nike blazers.

Sebastian was slipping on some more rings and bracelets now that the season was over and he looked over seeing Luke leaning on the bathroom door staring at him with a look.

Luke was wearing a pair of black jeans a blue hoodie that’s a little to big on him that Sebastian knows is his.

Luke looked his boyfriend up and down and smirked glad that Sebastian is his. Luke walked over and cupped his face tracing his cheekbone before pressing his lips messily to his. Sebastian made a sound and put his hands on Luke’s lower back pulling him closer to him.

“Sebs! Lukey! You guys ready?” Jack called out from the entrance way.

Sebastian and Luke both pulled away reluctantly and gave each other looks before they walked out of their room and to the front door where Jack was waiting for them.

They headed out of the apartment and down to the car and Jack got into the backseat, Luke in the passenger and Sebastian driving like usually.

Sebastian parked them in front of the bar that they have gone to most of the time with team, it’s a pretty low key bar and they barley met any fans here and there isn’t ever any photos taken of them. They make good drinks, appetizers and have pool tables and dart boards so it’s the perfect spot.

They seemed to be one of the last few to get there and the back booths were filled with the team most who cheered when they saw Jack, Jack smiled walking quickly over and accepting all the hugs and pats on the back, haven’t seen a lot of them after his surgery last week.

Sebastian and Luke walked over to where Alex, Dawson, Simon and John were all crowded together in one booth, Sebastian let Luke slide in before he sat down next to Luke, Luke tangled his foot with Sebastian’s.

Dawson and John were arguing like normal, the two always spending so much time arguing over Canada and USA. Simon and Alex both seemed to ignoring the normal arguing and Alex was telling Simon something when Sebastian and Luke sat down next to them and Alex and Simon turned to them.

They all started a conversation between the four of them as Dawson and John were still arguing.

“You want something to drink?” Sebastian leaned in mumbling against Luke’s ear and Luke looked up at his boyfriend nodding and giving him a soft smile before turning back to the conversation and knew Sebastian would know what he wants.

Sebastian squeezed Luke’s thigh before sliding out of the booth and walked over to bar.

Sebastian had walked up to the bar and ordered Luke his drink and got the drink and started walking back to the booth, when a blonde girl stepped in front of him.

“Hi!” The girl giggled looking up at him. Sebastian nodded looking at her warily, “Your so tall!” The girl all but swooned and reached out to put her hand on his arm making Sebastian quickly step back.

Luke looked up and saw a girl giggling at Sebastian and Luke could tell Sebastian was uninterested but Luke still felt uneasy watching someone try to flirt with his boyfriend.

Luke could see Sebastian was starting to get uncomfortable so he quickly got up and walked over to Sebastian wrapping an arm around his waist and his hand cupping Sebastian’s face and brining him closer to connect their lips.

Sebastian let out a sigh of relief and quickly kissed Luke back and melted into the kiss.

Luke pulled back and looked towards the girl who was standing there with her jaw open, “He’s taken.” Luke grumbled with a possessive smirk. The girl quickly scrambled away.

Sebastian had a small smirk on his face as he leaned down the rest his chin on Luke’s shoulder to whisper in Luke’s ear, “Have i told you have much i love your possessive side.” Sebastian pressed a kiss to his cheek before leaning back.

“You have but you can always say it again.” Luke proudly smirked back always loving that Sebastian enjoyed when Luke was jealous and possessive.

“Holy Shit!” Dawson let out staring at the two in shock, reminding Sebastian and Luke that there team was right in front of them and saw the whole thing.

Sebastian and Luke shared a look and turned to the team, most were staring at them with jaws drop and shocked expression, Nico and John didn’t look at all surprised as they both figured it out awhile ago and Simon and Alex both know because Sebastian and Luke told them.

“Damn how long?” Curtis looked so stumped having not even realized his two rookies were together.

“Two and half years.” Sebastian nodded keeping his arm wrapped around Luke’s waist.

“Oh my god!” Nate gasped looking at the two, “Rusty you were the one who gave Bolds all those marks.” Nate has remembered quite a few times Sebastian has had marks in the locker room.

“Do not remind me.” Jack looked a second away from throwing up thinking about his little brothers sex life.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Ondrej looked worried hopping it wasn’t because they were worry about the reaction of the guys in the locker room.

“We weren’t hiding it.” Luke simply shrugged, “We just didn’t see the reason to announce it.” Luke and Sebastian had talked about it but really didn’t care to tell everyone and just let them find out when they find out.

Nico walked over and clapped a hand on both of their shoulder and gave them a proud smile “Thank you for sharing it with us.” Nico had figured they were dating a while ago but he was glad they were comfortable that they didn’t feel the need to hide it from the team.

Sebastian and Luke softly smiled back at Nico.

“A lot of things make sense now.” Erik nodded thinking about times he thought the two were incredibly close and had his suspicions that they liked each other but he never thought they were together already.

“If it makes you guys feel better Jack didn’t even realize until last summer.” Luke chirped his brother with a smirk, Sebastian let out a small snicker.

“It does make me feel a lot better actually.” Curtis smirked looking over at Jack teasingly watching Jack throw his head back dramatically.

“Ok so i was a little obvious.” Jack reluctantly admitted still pouting though.

“Very obvious.” Sebastian and Luke both deadpanned at their older brother.

migraines

Luke frowned as he woke up and Sebastian was isn’t in bed next to him and the spot next to him was cold meaning Sebastian has been out of bed for awhile.

He stumbled out of bed and walked down the hallway and saw the door do the freezer open and frowned as he saw Sebastian standing in front of the fridge with his head in the freezer, something he does when his head is hurting.

Luke walked over quietly to Sebastian resting a soft hand on his back. Luke gently ran a hand over the back of Sebastian’s head and frowned feeling his head freezing meaning he’s been standing in the freezer for a while now.

“Head.” Luke softly mumbled and Sebastian very slightly nodded before slowly pulling his head out of the freezer and Luke winced seeing Sebastian looking miserable and his eyes squinting.

“I am gonna shower before we leave.” Sebastian mumbled pressing a kiss to Luke’s cheek before stumbling down the hallway not seeing Jack pausing and looking at him in worry.

Luke frowned knowing Sebastian wouldn’t skip practice especially as they have a game tonight and Luke knew it wasn’t right to try and stop him because he does the same thing when he’s really sick and Sebastian doesn’t push.

“His head?” Jack looked worried asking Luke.

“Yeah.” Luke grimly nodded, “I’ll go pack a bag for his stuff.” Luke told Jack as they were flying to Florida today and Luke knew he was gonna need more than the emergency stuff in their suitcases.

“Good idea.” Jack nodded looking worried having seen many times Sebastian having a bad migraine and knows being on the ice doesn’t help.

Luke headed back to their room and saw their mostly packed back and he started grabbing both of their last minute items.

Luke grabbed a few more doses of Sebastian’s migraine medication, more ibuprofen, peppermint essential oil, nausea medicine, eye mask they can throw in the freezer, an extra pair of sunglasses, noise canceling headphones and a extra hoodie, he threw all of it into his backpack in case Sebastian needed it on the plane.

Sebastian eventually came out of the shower in a pair of sweats and Luke’s sweatshirt.

Luke walked over and gently brought Sebastian into a hug letting Sebastian lay his head on his shoulder and relax against Luke, “Did you take your meds?” Luke softly asked as he gently massaged Sebastian’s head.

Sebastian made a small yes sound.

Sebastian’s migraine medication does work pretty well and it does stop the migraines from getting really bad and not last as long but he needs to take them immediately as he feels a migraine coming on and Luke knows Sebastian woke up with his head hurting meaning he didn’t take it as early as he should so the medication was not going to work as good.

Sebastian stood back up looking extremely miserable and tired as he slipped his shoes on and put his phone in his pocket, Luke grabbed both of their suitcases and his backpack following Sebastian out of their room down the hallway seeing Jack waiting for them by the front door.

“You ok bud?” Jack softly asked looking at Sebastian in concern, Sebastian just shrugged and Jack frowned gently pulling Sebastian into a gentle hug and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead that was extremely clammy.

Luke gave Jack a look and Jack wrapped an arm around Sebastian letting Sebastian lean on him as they walked out of their apartment and down to the car.

Luke opened the back door and made Sebastian lay down on the back seat as Jack and Luke put their bags into the car and Jack hopped into the drivers seat and Luke sat down in the back row lifting Sebastian’s head and setting it back down on his lap and he started gently massaging Sebastian’s head feeling his relax slightly.

Sebastian kept his eyes shut and laid on Luke the whole car ride to the arena and groaned softly as he sat and grabbed a pair of sunglasses that Jack handed him and he put them on and threw his hood up as well as Luke and Jack grabbed all the bags and they started walking into the arena.

Sebastian just ignored everyone and stumbled over to his stall ready to get this mandatory practice over with.

Nico frowned in concern as he watched Sebastian go right to his stall and looking very tired and has a pair of sunglasses on and if it was anyone else Nico would think they were hungover but he knows Sebastian doesn’t drink much.

Nico looked over at Jack in question and Jack mouthed head and Nico nodded in realization as he knew Sebastian gets bad migraines.

Sebastian clenched his jaw feeling his stomach starting to turn and took a deep breath standing up heading to the ice to start practice.

Luke kept flashing his boyfriend concerned looks as he noticed Sebastian being pretty slow on the ice but starting to look nauseous and squinting his eyes shut.

Sebastian lasted half way through practice before he shot off to the bench grabbing one of the trash cans and threw up into the bin.

Luke quickly rushed over and stood in front of Sebastian’s face so no more cameras could get Sebastian’s face as he threw up and he gently rubbed his back as he threw up again.

Sebastian dry heaved and one of the trainers quickly came over handing a towel and water letting Sebastian swish his mouth out and wipe his face off.

Sebastian gently squeezed Luke’s arm before he followed the trainers down the hallway and into the medical room.

Luke wished he could follow Sebastian but he knew he had to stay on the ice and practice specifically because Sebastian would want that.

Sebastian only had a pretty quick check up with the team doctor because it’s pretty common for him to have migraines and if he could sleep it off and eat a good meal before the game he could play tonight.

Sebastian was given his anti nausea medication so he doesn’t throw up again and he got changed out of his equipment and into his clothes.

Sebastian grabbed a blanket and he headed to the hang out room that had a lot of couches and he shut the lights off and laid down on the couch covering his whole body with the blanket and buried his head under the blanket and fell asleep pretty quickly.

Luke went through the post practice media and most of the questions were about Sebastian as it had been announced he was a game time descion and everyone saw him throw up on the ice.

Luke was getting annoyed and just wanted to get to Sebastian.

Finally he anwsered the last question and took a very quick shower getting changed real quick and he was told where Sebastian was.

Luke walked into the room and smiled softly seeing a lump on the couch and Luke knew it was his lump. Luke walked over to the couch sitting down by Sebastian’s head and let out a sigh of relief seeing him ok and fast asleep.

It had almost been two hours since Luke saw Sebastian left practice so Luke was grateful he got a least a good hour of sleep.

Luke regretfully had to wake him up now as they had to catch a flight.

Luke gently pulled the blanket off Sebastian’s head and gently rubbed his shoulders, “My sweet boy.” Luke softly whispered and shook his shoulders.

Sebastian groaned soflty scooting closer to Luke and hiding his face on Luke’s thigh.

“Come on we’ve got to get on the plane.” Luke soflty told him guiding Sebastian to sit up, “Feel a bit better?” Luke hopefully asked and Sebastian softly nodded truthfully feeling a bit better after his nap.

“Good.” Luke sweetly smiled and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before they both stood up.

Sebastian followed Luke to the bus and they were one of the last ones on the bus and flopped down on one of the front rows.

The drive to airport was really short and they were soon getting off the bus and walking up the stairs.

Sebastian sat in his regular row but knew Luke wouldn’t mind giving him the window so he could use the wall as a pillow.

Sebastian brought the blanket with him and he quickly slipped his shoes off and buckled his seat and covered himself with the blanket and leaned his head on the airplane wall and fell asleep before everyone was even on the flight.

Luke was sitting on the seat next to Sebastian and watched as Sebastian curled into a tiny ball despite being so tall and quickly fell asleep.

Luke and Sebastian’s regular spot on the plane was the table seats so they had a table and the two seats in front of them were always taken by Jack and Nico.

Jack sag down and looked at a sleeping Sebastian in concern, “Is he doing better?” Jack softly asked Luke.

Luke nodded, “Seems like his meds are kicking in so hopefully some more sleep and some food he should be good.”

Luke knew Sebastian would be devastated to miss the game and usually Sebastian manages his Migraines almost perfectly and very rarely ever misses a game before of his head.

“Good.” Nico nodded looking relieved that Sebastian was doing better.

The flight was very short just barely an hour and Luke played a few rounds of cards with Nico and Jack as Sebastian slept the whole flight to Ottawa.

“Sebby.” Luke softly whispered once the plane landed and gently shook Sebastian who did not move an inch the whip plane ride.

Sebastian hummed and picked his head up rubbing his eyes and he squinted not as bad at the all the lights.

Sebastian slipped his sunglasses back on and followed Luke off of the airplane and onto the bus to their hotel.

Sebastian started chewing slowly on a granola bar and drank some water as they were driven to the hotel.

Luke felt Sebastian’s forehead and he felt a lot less warm and clammy and some of the color in his cheeks was returning.

Luke and Sebastian got their hotel room and headed up to it, Luke opened the door letting Sebastian walked in first and closed the door behind them.

Sebastian all but flopped onto one of the beds and immediately taking his shoes and socks off and burying himself under all the blankets.

One of the best ways for Sebastian’s migraines to get better is sleeping and it does help they also make him extremely tired.

Luke set an alarm for them to wake up too and got into bed next to Sebastian. Sebastian turned over and buried his head into Luke’s next letting out a sigh of content getting able to sleep and cuddle with Luke.

Luke could tell Sebastian was getting better which was relieving and he gently ran his hands through Sebastian’s hair until he fell asleep with him.

Luke stirred waking up to his alarm going off and he reached over shutting it off, he looked down seeing Sebastian stirring awake and Luke let out a sigh of relief as Sebastian opened his eyes and didn’t squint at the light.

Sebastian smiled softly feeling his head barely pounding any more and knew if he ate his pre game meal he would be cleared for the game.

He could easily play through a small leftover headache and he has done it many times before.

“Better.” Luke stated rather than asking because he knew. Sebastian hummed back and Luke smiled softly pressing a kiss to his forehead.

They both got up and changed into their suits for the game and grabbed their phones and headed to the banquet room where the Devils had their meals for the team.

Sebastian and Luke grabbed their pregame meals and headed over to sit with Jack, Nate and Nico.

Sebastian slid into the seat next to Jack and softly nudged him.

“Hi Sebs.” Jack smiled fondly and gently brushed his hand through his baby brother’s hair, “Feeling better?” Jack asked noticing Sebastian looked a lot better.

“Yeah.” Sebastian nodded making Jack smile happy.

Sebastian felt his stomach rumble having only eaten a granola bar and he quickly scarfed down his large meal and drank a gatorade and a bottle of water.

He got up and headed over to the table where the trainers were at and told them he was feeling better and showing them his empty plate and he cleared for the game.

Sebastian smiled happily as he turned back around walking to the table.

The New Jersey Devils won that night 6-2. Sebastian had a three point night with 1 goals and 2 assists.
