Performing had always been a rush for Leah. She loved sharing her love for music with people. But to say Leah stressed over planning this set was an understatement. It was good stress, but she was happy to finally be able to relax. She really wanted to see Elliot’s set, so she found herself mindlessly looking through the art in the gallery while she waited for it to start. “Do you know anything about this piece?” She asked, turning to the person next to her. “I know fuck all about art but it looks cool.”
Tomorrow is the first show with our new drummer and first pride concerts! We have a kickass setlist planned out which include a couple of awesome duets between Leah and I! I hope everyone can come out and see us! We even have matching shirts!
Also debating whether I should get some type of make up done for the show despite never doing anything like that before....
While not known for its parties, Sander’s Bay is far from sleeping when it comes to celebrating. Year round we welcome people from all walks of life, and during Pride Month, we want to know we celebrate YOU no matter how you may identify. So come join us this Saturday, June 27. Whether it’s drinks and a festival on the pier or rocking out with Starchild at our local art gallery, or anything in between, there’s sure to be a celebration for you.
Pride 2020 will be our FIRST event in our new home. While I regret the delay in getting the details together, I hope we can make this a fun event. While I’ve reached out to a few players specifically for participation in the event, you are absolutely welcome to have your characters/their businesses take part in a special way!
A parade will kick off the event starting at 11am. With the trail ending at the pier. That and the beachside area will be taken over with a festival. Food trucks, breweries, and vendors from the Sander’s Bay and Virginia Beach area will be on hand. A free concert stage will be set up and The Storm Project will be the featured performers.
If you fancy a nicer, indoor event, Sage Motta will be opening the gallery doors with an art show featuring LGBT+ artists and a special performance from Starchild. Passed hors d’ouevers and cocktails will be available. The event is free, but donations to The Trevor Project and The Pride Foundation will be encouraged.
Ask spams will be suspended this weekend, so you can focus on the event. While it all does take place on Saturday, you’re welcome to start early and finish late. Please post any f2f starters, paras, or social media posts with the tag #sbevent or #sbpride2020
