Okay I did post this in response to a different users post but I’m going to repost this short ficlet here since it is literally based on a scene in my Shooting Stars Au (chap 3 that I am almost finished with it’s really fking long ok) @peaches-in-a-pancake you’ve already seen this posted elsewhere but @luriuan you haven’t so this is for you Superstar!
“Gregory! The door won’t open-I can not reach you!” Freddy yelled from behind the jammed door, frantically slamming his fists against the thick metal as he tried to disable the doors locking mechanism through his viral connection to the security system. But even that had been cut off from him-he couldn’t connect to the main database no matter how hard he tried. Becoming more erratic he desperately clawed at the seams of the frame trying with all his might to pry the door open. His ears twitched at the faintest sound of coughing on the other side and a new wave of panic washed over the bear. “Gregory-please answer me! What is happening?!” The sudden screeching of the security alarm bells echoed through the halls shaking Freddy from his thoughts and through the noise he heard the boys terrified screams. “H-help me, I can’t breathe! There’s this weird smoke-” Gregory cried as he fearfully curled himself up against the farthest corner of the room, hugging his knees with his shirt pulled up over the lower part of his face. A thick smoke billowed through the ventilation grate and gradually spread through the small room; blanketing the air around the boy. As it swirled by his face it caused a stinging sensation to his eyes making Gregory blink rapidly in a vain attempt to quell the pain until he couldn’t open them altogether. He could hear Freddy banging and scratching at the door but the burning in his lungs and strained breaths had begun to make him dizzy…he wasn’t sure he could make it much longer… “Gregory!” The bears panicked shout pulled his mind out of haze and taking what little breath he could muster and screamed with all his might. “DAD!” Gregory felt his body grow heavy as he fell unconscious and slumped against the wall but not before hearing an ear piercing roar… Freddy’s markings illuminated in the dark hallway; bursts of neon blue electricity crackled and sparked off his frame-he angrily roared and with a strength he hadn’t known he had thrust his claws into the doors seam, ripped it clean off its frame and carelessly threw it aside. He was hit with a thick cloud of smoke as he ran into the room and in a panicked state glanced hurriedly about until Gregory’s slumped body came into view-instantly scooping him up into his arms and racing out and as far from the room as his feet could carry them.
Gregory woke up with a cough..his irritated eyes cracking open enough to be greeted with the sight of bright blue eyes staring worriedly at him. “D..dad?” He could all but whisper feeling as sore as his voice sounded. “Gregory! You’ll be alright! I’m here,” His father said and the boy could feel his large arms wrapped around him. He felt so warm.. “You’re safe now.” Gregory had opened his mouth to reply but was cut off. “Shh…be still and rest. It’s what you need right now.” The boy had wanted to protest, to reassure the animatronic bear that he was tough and could handle it but couldn’t resist Freddy’s gentle touch as the bear stroked his claws through his hair.
