Plot: WE BROKE UP RIGHT BEFORE A GIANT ROADTRIP OUR FRIENDS PLANNED AND WE DON’T WANT TO BAIL ON EVERYONE AND RUIN THE TRIP SO YAY, LOOKS LIKE WE GET TO SPEND A FIVE HOUR DRIVE AND A WEEKEND IN A COTTAGE TOGETHER.
Stuffing his hands in his back jean pockets, he was leaning against his truck, as he talked to his best friend Chace while waiting for the rest of the group to show up. “Are you sure you two will be ok in the car all alone for five hours?” His friend asked. To be honest, Adrian didn’t know, how the ride was going to go. He hoped it would be alright, but he didn’t know how she felt. When they broke up four months ago, they had completely forgotten about the trip their friend group planned. His best friend Chace was going to purpose to his long-time girlfriend on this little trip. They were going to a mountain resort, Chace’s parents owned. “Hopefully, well, I don’t want her to feel awkward.” He rubs the back of his neck.
Truth was, he missed her. He missed her a lot, but the two were going on completely different paths in life. He didn’t want her to stop her life for him, it wasn’t fair. “You know, I never understood why you ended it.” His friend says. “It’s complicated.” Adrian shrugs his shoulders as he turned around and grabbed a water bottle from the cooler in the back of his truck. He hands one to Chace, “So, you got the ring and everything?” He asked, unfastening the cap and taking a swig of his water. Chace was about to answer, when she enters the driveway. A confused look on Adrian’s face, he turns and his heart plummets. Walking out of her car, Adrian felt like he couldn’t breathe. “....hey..”
