WIP Intro: Silvit Crossroads
Okay! I am still alive, though this blog is completely dead. But this resurrection calls for an intro to my actual current WIP.
Working title: The Silvit Crossroads.
Malnemorod, otherwise known as The Silvit Crossroads is a dimension much like Earth, except for a few important factors. It is one giant forest with a single road running through it. This Road can get you from one side of Earth to the other in just a couple of hours’ walk, but it follows many twists and turns, and taking even one can get you utterly lost from where you began. The Silvit, alien creatures who inhabit the Crossroads, can show you the way--if you happen to meet a friendly one.
Robyn is my MC. She’s fair and kind, and too curious for her own good. Thrown (or rather dragged) into the Silvit Crossroads, she finds a whole new world to explore, full of creatures unlike any she’s seen on Earth. Unfortunately for her, Silvit are not always friendly towards strangers, and there are others in the Crossroads who don’t like people getting in their way.
Nikolai is technically the leader of the group, but when it comes to tactics, he will always let Cassia take the lead. Confident and playful but hot-headed and rash when angered, he can be quick to snap, but unless you really hit a nerve he’s equally quick to laugh it off. Audicant, a little blue dinosaur Silvit, follows him everywhere, and he would take a bullet for her without thinking twice.
Cassia is the medic, for lack of a better term. She’s loyal, practical, and calm under pressure. Stubborn as an ox, she hates when plans change without warning, but will fight to the death for her team without hesitation. The one time you might see her soften is when she’s caring for the sick Silvit in her makeshift vet practice. It may not be obvious to most, but for Cassia, a gentle word here and a light touch there is a big deal.
The Realm Wardens are the bad guys. Led by a white-haired woman (currently) named Griffin, they work to research everything they can about the Silvit and the Crossroads, to find out if this new world can be used as extra space for human homes, or even a quicker way to travel. If this means slowly destroying the Crossroads, that’s a price they are willing to pay.
It is currently in the first draft stage, and progress is slow--but I am still hopeful for this project. Maybe it will be the one I finish. We’ll see.
Thanks for reading!
