He stiffened, pinned as he was beneath the other. Whatever words he’d meant to say died on his tongue. Mismatched eyes stared up at blue ones, the intensity of his gaze further causing Sasuke’s immobility. The closeness was already proving to make him uncomfortable, but the look directed at him was even more so. It felt as if his thoughts had halted. Naruto’s palms were warm against face and he felt his heart speed up in his chest. He should push Naruto off. He should do something; punch him across that stupid whiskered face and yet--
Lips pressed against his own and he found himself even more lost than before. His mind was at a complete blank, unable to process the simple and obvious action. Perhaps it was the clear intent, and the emotion behind it, like if Naruto had finally grown tired of whatever it was between them (Sasuke’s half-serious date proposal, the kiss that wasn’t supposed to mean anything). There was a half-second in which he wondered-- what would it mean if I kissed him back? Fear rose up in him and he pushed Naruto off, nearly over compensating to throw him off the couch.
His single hand rose to his mouth as if to cover the evidence. Sasuke struggled back into a sitting position, having slumped into the cushions with Naruto’s antics. The brunet didn’t say anything, or even look at the other yet, still too shocked to gather his thoughts together. Eventually he shot the blond a look, face flushed, back of his hand against his lips.
“What the hell was that, usuratonkachi?”
