Today I learned that the flat bed scanners at our store can talk. This sounds insane, but I was trying to fix one that was broken and when I plugged it back in this prerecorded male voice started listing off error codes from out of the speaker. I was very startled, as after 10 years with different retail flatbed scanners I've only ever heard them beep and chime. But no. This one talked.
