Swings woke up before J'Ram, as he usually did nowadays. He took a long moment to smile up at his mate, kissing his jaw once before getting up and making sure things were prepared. Yes, everything he needed was there in his bag.

He thought about just waiting until J'Ram woke, but half an hour passed and he wanted it to be early when they set off, so he leaned forward and gently held the sides of his mates face.

"J'Ram-Kur, wake up. We've got things to do, remember?"

Swings smiled weakly up at J'Ram as they lay in the tent, not daring to bring up what he was sure was on his mate's mind...he was leaving tomorrow. And a quiet (growing louder) voice in the back of his head told him he wasn't coming back.

He tried to put it aside and thought instead about their swimming trip a week earlier, and how it had ended with him singing...and then he stopped thinking about that.

Deciding to just get on with it and address the topic at hand, he closed his eyes, breathed in, and spoke.

"Are you ready for me to go tomorrow morning? I'll probably be leaving before you're awake."
