Thank you to everyone who’s tagged me in fics, tag games, sent me asks and have just been very sweet. I gotta focus on some (sadly) non-fanfic related stuff. I should be able to have my weekend update late Sunday and I have part two of Roc & Doc for ya’ll tomorrow. 🥰 I’ll be posting a bit less often for a bit.

This was originally going to be a time lapse but I uhhh screwed up and needed to download the CPS update first and then start drawing T^T but oh well. Some day soon I’ll make one.
Anywho, this is from Scaling Back and Lee gave me the brilliant idea of Pidge having to haul unconscious Lance’s fish butt by using her bayard like Rapunzel does with her hair dragging Eugene after she knocks him out. And yes I’ve decided that Lance conserves mass no matter what form he takes in this AU so he uhh... he weighs a ton XD
Also took a stab at designing his Paladin armor for his tail and I figured the most moveable kind of plating would be something similar to how the Lions’ tails look like. As for his fins that are sticking out as well as his tail fins, I’m thinking that maybe a protective shield forms around them if he’s ever ejected into space? Similar to how the face shields cover their whole face when they’re out in space. But I can’t think of a scenario where Lance would have his tail and be out in space. But who knows, the fic is partially crack fic so it might happen later on.
This is a future scene from my canon divergent AU Scaling Back, where everything is (mostly) the same except Lance is secretly a merman - until Pidge finds out. Also I gave Lance a back scar from the invasion on the Castle of Lions because yeah magical healing sci-fi pods are cool and all but having no scar afterwords is nonsense okay?
Designing Lance’s tail for this AU was fun! I actually looked up Caribbean fish for inspiration and he is based on a striped parrotfish as well as a neon tetra - which is more South American oceans but it’s a similar enough design to the parrotfish. I love both designs because they have blue and red in their scales which fits perfectly for Lance since he pilots the Blue and Red Lions.
Pidge is high-key playing “footsie” with Lance right here and I think it’s adorable.
