hi hi! welcome back! if it isn't too much trouble, ive been looking for a fic for ageeees; all I can remember is that it is a modern au in which the paladins work at an aquarium, Keith is a new hire and Lance is a mermaid performer. sorry, that's all I can remember :/

Keith starts his new job as a waiter in the Mamora Aquarium's restaurant. Lance is a merman performer for the aquarium. Keith's encounter with the merman leaves him hopelessly confused, possibly in love, and overall an absolute mess. Modern AU with fluff overload pretty much.

This was originally going to be a time lapse but I uhhh screwed up and needed to download the CPS update first and then start drawing T^T but oh well. Some day soon I’ll make one.

Anywho, this is from Scaling Back and Lee gave me the brilliant idea of Pidge having to haul unconscious Lance’s fish butt by using her bayard like Rapunzel does with her hair dragging Eugene after she knocks him out. And yes I’ve decided that Lance conserves mass no matter what form he takes in this AU so he uhh... he weighs a ton XD 

Also took a stab at designing his Paladin armor for his tail and I figured the most moveable kind of plating would be something similar to how the Lions’ tails look like. As for his fins that are sticking out as well as his tail fins, I’m thinking that maybe a protective shield forms around them if he’s ever ejected into space? Similar to how the face shields cover their whole face when they’re out in space. But I can’t think of a scenario where Lance would have his tail and be out in space. But who knows, the fic is partially crack fic so it might happen later on.

Can anyone tell me if there’s a fic of Lance secretly being a giant sea god (like in my pfp) because I’ve loved that drawing for so long but I’ve yet so see a fic that’s exactly like that 😭

Lance thought hiding the fact that he was a merman while on land was hard, but he quickly discovers that hiding his species while in space is a never-ending slew of anxiety-inducing close calls.

He reckoned Pidge would be the first to figure out his secret since she was the smartest on the team, so it was only a matter of time… but he could never imagine she would find out like this.
