Another late #todaystie poast (would you believe I wore yet a different tie today): like many of us stunted weirdos I had a thing for Hermès, not that I could ever afford much from there. Nonetheless I was fascinated by the idea of their scarf ties, ties they made from the large prints of their scarf material. I discovered when I actually looked at them that most look bizarre, often festooned with odd scraps of image that generally looks disjointed as there’s no attempt to orient the print to make an esthetically pleasing tie. I found this stunning 1980s example that turned out to be made from their fantasies indéennes scarf.
