i may or may not have spent 5 hours today scrambling about trying to map character relationships

what i created are almost illegible diagrams from hell that would kill a newcommer on the spot. i think

Was replaying hc and (this might be obvious to most, but I thought it was an interesting idea) I thought more about the Charlottes.

Since the whole world is based on Charles’s mind and the beliefs/people that made a lasting impact on him, then all Charlottes (or at least our scarlotte) being implied transfem is actually pretty fascinating since that would imply that Charles believed that being feminine was “right” (aka his focus on being perfect&pure) and that he saw his identity as a flaw. Which is also why he creates that online persona as Charlotte (and also similarly sounding to Scarlett bc she was the embodiment of perfection to him, which is a given but it adds on to the point) to fit into the mold he casted himself into. I like how he didn’t make is persona Scarlett but instead Charlotte because it shows how he wanted to be like Scarlett, but more innocent, warm, and pure in a sense? (Prob what Lilith wanted in a daughter)

I would say this stems from how Lilith never saw *him* but rather Scarlett. He was never her son but instead her unborn daughter in her eyes. He would never be the perfect, innocent girl she dreamed Scarlett would be, so his existence would inherently be tainted in some way or another. Scarlett was everything he wasn’t, and that manifested in each Charlotte retaining that piece of him.

Which is why it’s important that Scarlotte experiences this for herself, since it lets her understand Charles on a deeper level. And I like how that blends Scarlett (expectations of perfection) to Charlotte (the person Charles wanted to be) together. Agh this game is so good💔💔💔
