I had a bad childhood, my parents died in a car accident when I was five and after they died, my Aunt Marie and Uncle Mason wanted to take care of me but I refused to go with them so instead, I lived with my grandma. Both of my aunt and uncle were hesitant to send me to my grandma's but back then I didn't know why and I didn't bother about it because I was too sad and I wanted my grandma.
For the whole thirteen years of leaving with her, there were good, bad and weird memories. She would constantly bring little kids or even teenagers my age to have dinner. She would introduce them to me as her students, she did sewing classes in this small room at the back of her house. It was never the same person though, every now and then a different person will come and I will never see that same person ever again. I once almost entered that room but my grandma literally got mad and locked me up in my room for the whole night. I had never dared to enter that room again.
My grandmother made a lullaby for me. She would sing the lullaby every time she tugged me up in bed. The lullaby is short and it ends with ' Rosie, Rosie needs love to be happy'. She would repeat it three times before leaving a goodnight kiss on my forehead. I liked it but as I grew older I realized how scary that lullaby was so, I made her stop singing it to me when I was fourteen and she got pissed and didn't feed me for THREE days.
Eventually, one day, I got lucky. my grandma left the house to run some errands. Usually, I'd follow her but, I had other 'plans'. As soon as she left the house, I went straight downstairs to the sewing room. My grandma's house was massive, it wasn't a mansion or anything but it was large enough to fit a family of ten. To my surprise, she didn't lock the door so, I sneaked in slowly. The room was illuminated with red lights like the ones in horror movies. There were sewing machines and a bundle of white cloth. the room was small, it looked really normal which was weird because why would she forbid me from entering the room if it was just empty? Then there was THE BOARD. Yes, a large board covered with a map and pictures of kids pinned onto various locations. Every picture had a name, age, different dates and a smiley face written at the bottom of the picture. That's when I realized, those kids were the ones who joined us for dinner, The ones who never returned. I was shaking, I could feel the fear and rage consuming me. I got scared, I wasn't even thinking, so I ran. I took my phone and packed all my stuff and just took off to my aunt and uncle's house.
As soon as I reached their house, I was crying because I was scared and I did feel guilty for leaving but I knew I had to. I remembered how Aunt Marie and Uncle Mason's face was painted with fear as I told them what happened. That night the police came and investigated the house. I stayed at Uncle Mason's house and locked myself in the guest room. I was just too scared to come out. That was the last day that I saw my grandmother.
A few days later, the police had finally filed up everything and told me that apparently, my grandmother was a serial killer. I know, how surprising. The locations that were pinned are the locations of where she buried the bodies. What freaked me out was they never found her. There was not a single trace of her. They had seen CCTV footage and looked through literally everything but, they got nothing. Till this day, she was never found and no one knows where she went. The house is currently guarded just in case if she returns or anything.
Those bitter memories were beginning to fade as years passed, until one day. I was working at this nursery because idk, I love kids? But yeah, one day there was this boy. I was doing some homework when I realized he had been STARING at me for like half an hour or so. I got up and walked towards him. I asked him if he was okay. He simply replied,
