SCCRK #1: Seraph Cookie Has a Problem
...in which the new King of Cookie Kingdom finds himself with a very important visitor on his hands.
“SERAPH COOKIE…”
The words floated around the room, past his head, tapping lightly at his half-asleep mind. He didn’t move.
“Seraph Cookie?”
It seemed to echo again, as if the original statement had stolen his magic and twisted itself into a question. The thought that a pathetic string of words, even one as mighty as his own name, would be the one to take his magic bothered him, and he shifted in his bed.
He wouldn’t get up yet, he decided, for the sun hadn’t hit his face yet, and he wasn’t about to start the day any earlier than he wanted to. Being awake was hard, and he didn’t want to partake in any of the shenanigans that his companions always created.
He probably would have stayed in bed for at least another hour. But then:
“SERAPH COOKIE!”
The doors of his room slammed open, and jolting up from bed Seraph Cookie grabbed blindly for the trident next to his bed, the cold metal searing his skin as he jabbed it at the air. The voice was too loud, too close, and he couldn’t bear the half-awake idea that it would steal his power to change itself, so he decided that, of course, he had to obliterate it.
And that was how, on the first morning of Seraph’s rule of the Kingdom Infinitim, he ended up with his trident against a horrified Wizard Cookie’s throat.
