💖 Jeffree Star! 💖
A lot of you guys who are new to the scene aren’t very familiar with a lot of the old bands/songs, so I’m here to change that! By breaking into your houses and forcing you to listen to something besides MSI and 100 Gecs /j
Anyways, I’ll format this by listing an artist and three of their songs! Btw, if any of y’all have any recommendations or bands you think I missed, then feel free to add on!!
The Medic Droid (More electronic sound, dudes who made Fer Sure) -Tease -FScene8 -Saddle Up
BrokenCYDE (Pioneers of crunkcore, screaming/hip hop/electronic) -Scene Girlz -Teach me How to Scream -40 oz
Millionaires (Electronic pop, kinda like Ke$ha before it was cool) -Talk Shit -Prom Dress -Drinks on Me
Dot Dot Curve (Crunkcore, dollar store BrokenCYDE) -Boys Pop The Bottles -Like a Pony -Take My Picture
Breathe Carolina (Electronic, screaming) -The Birds and The Bees -I.D.G.A.F -Hello Fascination
3OH!3 (Electronic pop, dudes who made Don’t Trust Me) -PUNKBITCH -HOLLERTILLYOUPASSOUT -CHOKECHAIN
Scotty Vanity (Electronic, dude who made I Like Your Hair) -Let’s go to The Mall -I Wanna do Your Makeup -Fabulous
J Bigga (Crunkcore) -So Scene -Booch -Oh Dang, Let’s Bang
Nickasaur (MySpace bedroom pop, cutesy electronic) -Rocketships and Radios -Love At First Sight -Dear June
Kill Paradise (Electronic pop) -Fall From a Star -Just Friends? -Radio Arcade
JJ Demon (Not the standard sound, but still has the scene feel, rap/electronic) -Coolest. Girl. Ever. -Yellow Balloon? -The Phone Song

Thank you @thegothtaku for tagging me in this. Now I have to think of the hundreds of songs I love to remind myself which ones get me the most. XD

1. Sweet Blasphemy-Black Veil Brides
Black Veil Brides has been one of my favorite bands for years. And when I say that, I mean I was practically there since the beginning (of their Los Angeles formation). This song is the most beautiful one on the album. It sounds like a choir of broken people united in hope. I depended on that song when I was a teenager during hard times and it still gets me to this day. I posted the 2020 version due to the better mixing/production value of the song.
2. The Last Three Letters- Alesana
My first "emo band". I remember the first time I ever heard their music in 2009 on MySpace. I always get nostalgic every time I hear their music. This song has very poetic lyrics. It screams scorned lovers, hopeless romantics...it's so angsty it hurts. I had a hard time choosing between this and "This Conversation is Over", but let's just say that On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax is all around a top-tier album.
3. Endlessly, She Said- AFI
If my username wasn't already a dead giveaway, AFI is my TOP band of all time. It's hard just to pick ONE song by them because of this. But for some reason, out of nostalgia, this song specifically was the one I gravitated to. Every winter I feel these weird emotional flashbacks of making my way through the bitter cold and deep snow to my high school listening to this song on my Walkman. Same situation in car rides too around Christmas time to my Grandfather's house. I played the CD so much that it broke my Walkman. Oops.
4. You Are So Beautiful- Escape the Fate
Another band that heavily resonates with my younger self. I loved Escape the Fate since 2010. But over the years I come to favor this song specifically the most. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ronnie's era too, but I honestly found Craig as a great vocalist too. Plus Ronnie is problematic as it is. Just the way the breakdown at the bridge hits with Craig's sorrowed screams like the ones he formally did in blessthefall just hits hard.
5. Neverender- Coheed and Cambria
Now this one is a far more recent pick that the others. I honestly didn't listen to Coheed and Cambria until about a few months ago because my boyfriend loves them. They're one his top emo bands, maybe in his all around top bands in general. He showed me multiple songs off of their debut album Second Stage Turbine Blade and you have no idea how quickly the songs got stuck in my head. Specifically this song and Everything Evil. I slept on these guys for so long and I catch myself singing their songs at work. I'm late to the party but who knows, maybe soon I will be a COTF. Plus they have a comic series called The Amory Wars. What's cooler than bands that write concept records to their comics? I will wait....
