Decided to check out Belle Isle today.
I started at the North Bank Trail lot and it was about two miles to the bridge.
It was a pretty chilly day, especially out of the sun.
Thanks, Bubba. I'll try.
Plaque at the start of the bridge.
It's suspended from the underside of two overpasses, and sways pretty readily in the wind.
There was some kinda triathlon being held today, involving biking, running, and paddling. Most of the paddling involved kayaks but this guy was just standing upright on a flat board.
Lots of reminders that I was still in a city. The spectators were pretty loud too.
This pond in a former quarry was a little off the beaten path, so I stayed here a bit trying to get out of my own head.
There was a cut-through with some narrow trails further on and I had to clamber up some rock-and-dirt hills.
At this point I'd already realized I wasn't really feeling it, so after poking around the island a bit more I went back the way I came.
There were too many people, too much concrete, too much graffiti. It was a nice walk, but not the kind of escape I need. Maybe I'll try somewhere else tomorrow.
Another sort of scene, did this in class. I did something similar with water color on paper, but I didn’t like how it turned out, and hence this digital one. Lyrics are from My Chemical Romance’s Demolition Lovers. For my beautiful princess whom I love so much. To a lifetime of never-ending happiness with you. <3
I haven’t done digital art in over a year already, but I’ve recently picked up my paintbrushes again. They’ve all been on the disturbing side, so this is a contrast to what I’ve been painting.
