REMIX PERFORMANCE TODAY!
Christopher McGinley rehearsing the Remix Interactive 2 choir from String Theory School for the performance at ISTE 6/29.
We’ve come so far! These are photos of early planning for the visuals that will instruct the audience at #ISTE2015. Thank you so much to the ExCITe Center at Drexel for hosting our workshops and Dr. Youngmoo Kim for his expertise.

REMIX CLASSES BEGIN! - Ellen Fishman-Johnson
Boy's Latin and SCH Academy students are learning the program Logic Pro to create their remixes.
PARTNERSHIPS FORMED - Ellen Fishman-Johnson
The project was broken down into three teams and partnerships were formed.
PRODUCERS-students who create the music
I was introduced to Dr. Noah Tennant the Head of Upper School at BOYS' LATIN of PHILADELPHIA (www.boyslatin.org) through Dr. Priscilla Sands, the President at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (www.sch.org). Dr. Tennant was enthusiastic about teaming his students with those at SCH Academy to create the remixes, and he even offered to drive them! I then contacted Kathleen Krull the Program Director at PLAY on PHILLY! (www.playonphilly.org) and they were thrilled to perform the remixes and selected "Mambo" by Leonard Bernstein as the piece to be remixed.
DEVELOPERS-students who create the app
Dr. Youngmoo Kim from the DREXEL UNIVERSITY exCITe Center (http://drexel.edu/excite/) continued to be very supportive of this project and offered to teach students how to create a iOS app. We found 5 students at SCH Academy who were willing to learn to program X code and Vince Day agreed to oversee these students in his Gaming course.
DESIGNERS-students who promote the concert
When doing previous projects, I have enlisted the help of our External Affairs office but I realized that I had students that wanted to learn how to promote a large scale project. We now have a healthy team of students who are creating a project website (and created this Tumblr site), a logo and other graphics, using social media and are gathering footage for a documentary.
