Aiden felt like a dick. He had ended up pulled away from the city the entire week of her birthday thanks to work. He didn’t even call; just sent a text that he was sure seemed half-assed but it was all he could do at the time. 

Now he wanted to make it up to her. The kids were with her brother and he was bad at planning things like this, but this time he had two just in case. Either way though it started with breakfast; breakfast that he was trying his best not to burn because he was rushing to get it done before she woke up.

Dressed in black she sat on the rooftop and looked down to the street beneath her. Gotham had always been the perfect place for criminals and since she was a child she was used to see crimes happen right in front of her eyes and it made her smile.

“Do you intend to give this back or will you just keep it?”

When she asked if he was sure he couldn’t help but feel his heart drop a bit; a reaction that he was sure he wore on his face. Her ‘yes’ though lifted his spirits again. He smiled, “I’m sure if you’re sure.”

If Aiden was honest it was something he thought about often. Aiden and his father’s relationship certainly wasn’t the healthiest one on Earth considering Aiden being with him was a result of kidnapping, but Aiden didn’t mind how things had ended up. His parents to an extent had worked out their differences and Aiden after having spent so much time with his father thought it was best he just stayed with him as opposed to possibly endangering his mother and half brother. Still though some days he did wonder who he would be if he had never met his father. If Grant had never come back; he wasn’t almost certain it wouldn’t be someone who was willing to stay with Hannah though. 

“Sometimes...” He admitted as he sat down next to her on the couch. “But I think most people do. It’s kind of a people thing, y’know?”

Stabbed // Aiden & Hannah

Aiden was meant to be on bed rest--technically, but he and his father knew that he had worked with worse injuries, so when Hannah came to see him he was still dressed in his suit from work where the only ‘break’ he was given was that instead of taking calls for hits he ran weapons. He shrugged. 

“I’ve had girlfriends who realize it’s me stab me,” he said offering her a small smile brushing off he incident. He had gone to see her because recently he had been worried about her. He didn’t put it in so many words but he did consciously spend more time with her. “So why would I hate you right?”
