@incubabe Cruel and unusual punishment
You must've spoken about it before but what ending do you favor in x2?
thank you for coming to my tedd talk about x-2.
i have briefly touched on this before, in passing i think! i do not mind the 'perfect' one, seeing tidus reunited with spira and yuna, but in truth i enjoyed it more as a child than i do now. it had that dreamy happy ending feel to it, which obviously i had to like more with a less adult mind / less expanded study on the story the game was trying to tell.
any finale in x-2 has this characteristic about it, which is closing a circle for yuna. it's a voyage in which she gets thrown once again ( the sphere found of 'him', rikku changing yuna's style, yuna adopting tidus' haircut ), and while it has a positive connotation compared to the nightmare the pilgrimage is, the subtext really tells you that once again this self discovery journey has little to do with her own prerogative, but it still feels connected to other roots, never yuna's. i'm certainly biased towards having her happy and content, closing this storyline of having something, rather someone, she really desired for herself for once. the one thing that really kept her going, even though she thought she'd lose it all by the end, but she was the one left behind instead. but more realistically speaking, i prefer the closure she gets from the recollection of pyreflies of tidus. she accepts that he is always there with her, in a way also giving us this metaphor of grief and going through the stages of it, which obviously hits close to home.
though this is addressed as the sad ending, yuna finally can tell him he loves him, and accepts the reality of what it is, not running away from loss and grief until one sunny day it finally finds you. the surface layer is really trying to put in front of us the story of how shuyin went to madness, rage and despair, turning his feelings for lenne into relentless revenge. yuna's feelings can rest in her heart, cherishing the memories she made with him. accepting that she cannot fix fate, finally finding her true way in life, because he will always be there for her when she needs him.
tl;dr: perfect ending is good, the fayth give back to yuna something she really wants after they get their wish granted by her, but the sad ending is better.

She stood within the door frame, a note of papers in her hands and the clank of bottles coming from her oversized bag at her side - eyes looking to the office room wondering if she'd gotten the right place finally.
my accountant can't be this cute @incubabe
@incubabe asked: / The Big Sleep Sentence Meme
❝ You know such lovely people. ❞ for Fubuki.
"Hmph! You don't have to tell me!" She smirked in a rather smug nature. "I'm looking at one of the most beautiful of the them after all." Fubkui caressed the other's chin.
Passes the ancient thing of knowledge and tentacles and so many eyes, the blunt.
"Quieres?"
Unlike mortals, Hermaeus Mora does not require the use of altering substances to achieve great knowledge... and he does not have a mouth with which to partake of the blunt. Still, he takes it in a single tentacle and holds it up to the black void of nothingness at his core.
"Si. Gracias."

The lizarrrrrrrrrrd
"So, I looked it up, and it's kind of like the thing of how all squares are rectangles but rectangles aren't squares. Snakes don't have legs, and they're lizards, but lizards that don't have legs aren't always snakes." She searched 'are snakes lizards' if you were wondering what brought her to this conclusion.
✩ ❛ ∘ @incubabe « “ Look. I haven’t been to many. Is this appropriately black metal enough an outfit? I don’t want to embarrass you in front of your, uh, blorbos. ”
“ my, uh ... what? ” she's caught herself stuttering like some blushing babe, both because riley's way with words always finds a way to make her lose the ability to speak, & because her friend's found herself a really nice leather piece. one of those tops that clings to the skin, showing off just enough to entice, while hiding away any noticeable unpleasantries. unlike a certain demon she knows, riley doesn't have the leisure to wear as much or as little as she likes. they're going somewhere with plenty of people with eyes like peeping toms. cool as a devil in the audience might be for tonight's crowd, lady's not in the habit of drawing attention, not with this side of her life anyway.
it's all her fault, as are most things that come with a free invitation to an underground concert. props of being a whiz with pyrotechnics, you get in for free when you edge close to putting the performers & the crowd in danger. she happens to be one of the best in the business, even if she limits herself to local circles & smaller bands that play only in derelict warehouses. the more graffiti the better.
she grunts a little just to get her foot back in the conversation, “ i don't know what that word means, but it sounds cute. i-i'm not some groupie, alright? ” not today at least, even if female-lead death metal is her jam. “ i work with these people. ” it doesn't pay very well, but it's always fun to watch the sparks fly, to see the stage set alight & look at all the attendees, dressed down in anticipation of the flames. “ as long as you got some leather on i'm sure nobody will mind. ” & damn, riley got it right on the first go around.
“ you might be doing too much. don't plan of feedin' tonight? ”
