Dwelling Place for Demons
The funny thing about vengeance demons was that they seemed to operate in reverse. Rather than going straight to the victim for their wish, they would often research the party who was at fault first. It helped to keep the hunger for vengeance alive, as well as sparking the imagination for all sorts of nasties if the victim wasn't feeling awfully creative.
Today, Toni was doing some background on a well-respected politician who had been a little bit naughty. Well, not in the usual, scandalous way, but rather just in the greedy arsehole sort of way. He'd managed to convince a college student to undertake "work experience" with the promise of a job by the end of the semester. A promise that was never delivered upon.
Currently, Toni was ransacking the politician's office in the middle of the night to learn some more about him. She was becoming increasingly more frustrated as it became more apparent that the man did not keep any evidence of his personal life at his office. It was as if he didn't have a personal life at all.
She dropped a pile of papers and sighed in irritation. As she looked up, she noticed she wasn't alone. She suddenly snapped to attention, looking straight at the other person. "I don't believe you are permitted to be in this office," she said with confidence, as if she was well within her rights to be there.
