You know how autism can present differently in girls, and how that's mostly a result of girls knowing how to mask better bc of other constant social pressures and having to adhere to a strict performance of self to be safe and okay? So for a long time people thought autism was more common in boys, but actually it was just more diagnosed in boys, because autistic girls kept being told some variant of "you don't seem that autistic to me"???
