You don’t understand I’m obsessed with Schlock
Schlock.
Hey, I own a copy of The Lost Ones. I'd be happy to transcribe it for anyone who can't get their hands on it.
(Quick reminder for anyone who, like myself, may have forgotten: The Lost Ones is the short story upon which SGaP ostensibly based Unmakeablelove)
While your offer is greatly appreciated, what you suggest is a lot of work for yourself which, ahem, has already been done. If you see what I mean (;
schlockthropus replied:
Oh wow look at that! I’m glad that that exists! I wasn’t able to find one way back when so I went ahead and bought a copy, which I love and cherish. I just wanted to be sure people could read it easily if they so desired. :)
Rightly so! It is a fascinating story to read, having now done so myself. I would recommend it to anyone interested in an intriguing little universe, governed by specific though apparently self-arising societal laws. If you’re looking for more backstory on SGaP’s series of songs, though, I’ll warn that you might be disappointed
I got a tattoo yesterday and it turned out so well!!

I’m sure that you remember these, you might even have them saved somewhere too, but the post about the null set reminded me of them so I thought I’d toss a link: how is counting possible? - sogreatandpowerful ((Alt)) when does something belong? - sogreatandpowerful ((Alt)) Also: Empty set [Philosophical issues] - Wikipedia and Axiom of empty set - Wikipedia
From personal experience, I’ve seen the null set on a few philosophy books, so I imagine there’s a lot of thought that went into choosing the symbol that I’m just not privy too. I’ve got my own musings on the meanings but I think what you said about it is really gorgeous and sums up a lot of my thoughts in a much more elegant way.
Oh goodness, I’ve never seen these SGaP posts! Looks like they were made just a little bit before my time (mid 2012), so I’m very glad you linked them to me. Seems maybe he uses the empty set to symbolise the MLP community (and people’s places in it), rather than himself… Anyway, I freely admit I was on both of those Wikipedia pages while writing up my thoughts
Thank you for your kind words (: I wasn’t sure I’d formed something coherent but now I think it turned out well in the end. And thank you also for informing me of these old posts. Now I have to wonder just how many other lost SGaP musings are out there, offering quiet explanations and thoughts on matters which we now seek those very answers to. If anyone else can link me the urls of old SGaP posts (2012 and before) hosted on blogs that haven’t been wiped, that would be amazing. There’s always a chance it could be something which hasn’t been seen (by me or many others) in a long time
