44. Does Rook confide in anyone about their own problems?

No. It's one of his weaknesses. He's never been good at opening up about his own problems. He's always solved other people's problems, even when he was a child. When he was a child, he didn't have a safe place to go to open up about what was bothering him because his parents weren't safe, the people who worked for his parents might tell his parents, and he was looking out for his younger sisters. And then when in the Ansburg Circle, if the Knight-Commander even had a whiff of something, he would patronize Ogden. So he never had the chance to learn how to rely on others growing up, but he was very keen on being someone for others to rely on so they didn't have to go through what he did.

Why is your icon a very dashing gay frog (toad?)? No shade I love it but still... why? lol

A very good friend of mine sent an image of that toad (yes I'm pretty sure its a toad) to me as a sort of self made meme years ago and I liked it a lot so I made it my icon. since then I've edited it in minor ways depending on seasons (halloween, christmas, etc) and now it would just feel wrong to change it

this is my tav, dahlia! she's a wild magic sorcerer/college of lore bard multiclass with the guild artisan background. instead of embracing the chaos of her magic, dahlia tries her best to focus the unpredictable nature into something positive through bardic magic and her skills as a guild apothecary. sometimes it works, and sometimes she summons a cambion. oops!

I love the idea that Rana constantly views magic as not as cool as a good ol dagger but she also cannot stand Volo... so she's got an innate distrust for bards ahahah! BUT I think she'd love the wild magic aspect, focusing into something positive and making things out of thin air would impress her (you just might not see it). Also ! Apothecary is SO cool to rana so I know she'd watch and learn very intensively...!!!! I think they would get along really well and Rana would love love to see the growth in wild magic (when it doesn't summon a cambion!) Also Rana is definitely foraging for ingredients for her apothecary!!! But don't be too nice to her abt it she's the equivalent of a 'tch' girl

🎇 14. When writing for specific characters, is there anything you have to do to get into the right mindset?

sometimes, it really absolutely depends on the character and what situation they’re in. usually i’ll play music to help me through it, i can normally pick a one song i jam out to on repeat as i write.

ive been told that i have excellent dialogue and that all my characters sound unique and have their own voice.

fanfiction is very homogenous these days and it kinda makes it really boring to read, but that makes the more unique fic concepts stand out especially if they’re written in a way that really hooks me in, and you know, keeps the characters IN CHARACTER lmao
