Schmorgasbord Platter 002: S-Max vs. Spatial
Spatial - 'Corti' CLIP by schmorgasbord
An interesting new label sprung up earlier this year under the Schmorgasbord guise, professing a desire to bring producers together for high quality dub/tech/house experiments that will delve deeper into the bass music pool. Following from October & Appleblim's raucous "NY Fizzz", Dutch veteran and super DJ S-Max faces up to Infrasonics head Spatial for release numero dos.
This is Spatial's first new material in quite some time, as an album he released a few months back was more of a compilation of previous material than a fresh LP. His style is noticeably sharpened on "Corti" as well, with knee-knocking bass complementing his highly twitchy and pinpointed drum patterns to dizzying effect. The remix by S-Max has traces of 2006 dubstep of the early Hessle variety, warping the original through a minimal skeleton of cyber-tropical vibes and complimenting "Corti" in rude style.
Check the sample above and also keep an eye peeled for tomorrow's interview with upcoming All City wunderkind Tessela. Goodbye, Blue Monday...
