写真の手前にあるレコードには演奏者のサインがあることが認められる。SP レコードには曲が短く余白があるところに録音者のサインがはいっているものがある。円盤型のレコードだからできる特徴だ。レコードが一般的に販売されたのはウォルフ歌曲全集からだが、その成功でベートーヴェンのピアノ曲をレコードにする企画が実現する。ピアニストとして白羽の矢が立ったのがシュナーベル教授だった。ベートーヴェンのピアノ曲に精通しているようだったからだが、ピアニストとしての彼はドビュッシーを得意とする即興のピアニストだった。彼は世界初のベートーヴェンのレコードを完成するまで、その彼流儀を封印した。ただただベートーヴェンが楽譜に遺した音符を音にすることに神経を注いだのだ。そして完成した8巻のレコードセットは大ヒットした。こうしてレコードは文化として認知され、現代に至る。ちなみに、数年後にシュナーベルは同じくベートーヴェンのソナタ全集を再録音している。こちらはまるで別物のロマンティックなベートーヴェンだ。CDセットで見かける機会が多いのは後者なので、注意されたし。

OTD in Music History: Legendary 20th Century pianist and pedagogue Artur Schnabel (1882 - 1951) dies in Switzerland. Schnabel was known for his intellectual rigor and for studiously avoiding displays of pure technical bravura. His detractors liked to claim that was a pragmatic decision necessitated by the fact that he lacked the requisite technique to be a super-virtuoso… and indeed, his own teacher, Theodor Leschetizky (1830 - 1915), once remarked: "You will never be a pianist, although you are already a great musician." Nevertheless, Schnabel's playing was usually technically solid, and he always displayed marked vitality, profundity, and even a luminous sense of spirituality when playing the Austro-German classics -- particularly the works of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) and Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828). To that point, former New York Times Chief Music Critic Harold C. Schonberg once provocatively described Schnabel as "the man who invented Beethoven." Although this is wildly overstated, Schnabel was unquestionably the preeminent Beethoven pianist of his time. Furthermore, between 1932 and 1935, he also produced the first recording of the complete Beethoven piano sonatas (a landmark series that continues to merit attention from serious listeners and pianists). Schnabel never played encores, maintaining that they inevitably cheapen the performance that came before. As he explained: "I have always considered an audience's applause to be a receipt, not a bill." Perhaps with a twinge of personal jealousy, American ultra-modernist composer Milton Babbitt (1916 - 2011) once observed that "Schnabel was the thinking man's pianist… and yet, in spite of that, he was still always very popular!” PICTURED: A real photo postcard showing a very young Schnabel, which he signed and inscribed to a fan in Munich in April 1910.

Ein kleines Teil vom Schnabel ist abgebrochen Die andere Seite vom Schnabel war auch verletzt Unter Inhalationsnarkose konnten die Verletzungen am Schnabel durch unseren TFA Nils Dusch bei dem Vogel fachlich versorgt werden. Die Inhalationsnarkose war sehr schonend für den Jungvogel und er hat sich sehr schnell danach erholt.
