How did Luki get into blitzball? What does she like about it? Is she good? Does she have a favorite team, technique, or ball?
In the part of the village where she grew up (which I promise to write about sometime soonish), it wasn't unusual to meet travellers or house visitors from other countries and cultures.
Luki and her friends first heard about blitzball from someone who frequently took part in the Menphina Madness* tournament. Everything about it caught her attention as it seemed so outlandish. But what draws her to games is really the community side of things. Everyone who attends shares this thing in common, and the atmosphere is always so welcoming and celebratory.
Is she good at it herself? No. She sucks. She's kinda like to play for a team, but she'd need to take it a lot more seriously and actually train for it. As it stands, it's just something she enjoys very casually.
As her homeland doesn't have a team (yet?), and she mainly went to games for the eventful atmosphere, Luki doesn't solidly back any single team, but she would pick a competing side when attending so she could dress to match their team colours.
Having said that though, her very favourite favourites are the Luna Whales.
Thanks so much, @scholarlostintime!! ⚽
*This is latest I could find, so I'm using this as a reference. I wonder if this, or any other blitzball RP, is still going? I used to love attending these.
I wish you'd write a fic about... Isabelle learning her love of clothing from her parents!
"Mooom? What are you doooing there? Mooom!!" In her curiosity, Isabelle circled her mother who was working on something at the table.
"Are you making a saaail? Like daaad does? With those staaabby stabs?" She didn't know what her mother was doing there exactly, but most certainly she had seen this movement before! Dad was working like that when she sneaked to his work every now and then!!
"Isabelle, please. As I said, just wait a little longer, I will show it to you soon enough. And no, I'm not making a sail", her mother laughed. "Well, perhaps I could, for a very tiny boat."
"The tiiiniest boat!!", Isabelle exclaimed full of excitment. How tiny it would be? Could she sit on such a boat? It must be a very cute, being that tiny! Someday she would see the tiny boat for sure!!
8) What hobbies does your OC have? What do they do to unwind? (For your choice!)
I'll talk about Zeto bc he came to mind first.
Zetoichi often travels for his work, making it hard to be able to do much for himself. But one of his favorite hobbies is drawing and painting! Traveling also allows him to make pieces of the places he's been to, so he does enjoy the experiences and opportunities it allows him. You might be able to catch him set up with an easel somewhere!
Thank you @scholarlostintime !!
🎨 Do you have any art of your OCs that you have drawn or had commissioned by others? Which character do you have the most art for?
I have! A fair amount of art! For a lot of characters.
Most of them are of Syla, between comms and gift art! My partner is a very talented artist, so he ends up drawing me a bunch of doodles and stuff and I'm SO blessed by him. And I commission a fair amount of art, mostly through twitter!
I just don't ever, share any of it. Mostly because I'm either highly embarrassed for no reason or I feel like it's met with general annoyance/disinterest. So I tend to hoard is all away and not bother people with it.
I will now proceed to look at this folder full of Syla art.
Who was your first OC?
Do you still write your first OC?
Funny enough, my first, multi-shipped OC is the one in my endless q'd Yu-Gi-Oh oneshots, Hikari. I never used her online because when I made her, social media was spread out between Gaia and Xanga (xenga? It was basically psuedo-myspace) and I mostly wrote in my notebooks stories involving her.
I started to write her again. Before, she actually used to be a self-insert, but she's become a fleshed out character after I reworked her when writing those oneshots. Honestly, I felt almost...carthartic, writing her again. Like returning to an old friend.
"What was your wedding day like?" (For anyone who is married!)
Shio: "It was wonderful! While we had a legal wedding earlier at the Sanctum of the Twelve, the day I consider to be our real wedding was a day when the whole Free Company went on holiday to the Ruby Sea, and I took Lett to meet my family. While we were there, Bunshin married us in the Kojin tradition, and Lett got the ability to breathe underwater too! After I'd shown here around the sea a bit, we then went and got to have a really nice meal with a lot of our friends, as the sun set over the ocean.
It was magical."
Conroy: "I remember that I was anxious the whole time, as I knew that House Rayne wouldn't approve of a wedding away from Sharlayan, and might disapprove of my choice of bride, but I didn't care. I had to go to extreme lengths to get a formal robe for the occasion, but Ahavael was angelically beautiful and looked like she hadn't even needed to try. I remember thinking to myself that I was so lucky."
Ava: "Neither I nor Chisai could go home to get married in our own traditions, so we went to the Twelveswood. I remember that my clothing was too stiff and itchy, but I wanted Chisai to feel like she had a clan, even a clan of one, who would never turn her out."
Gologa: "Marrying your Queen is not a Bozjan tradition, but I will always treasure the look of joy on Marisol's face as I gave her the ring. I told her then, and since, that I want to follow her traditions just as she follows mine."
@scholarlostintime replied here:
Fennie gave a warm smile as the two entered, taking his seat at his desk once more. “It’s nice to meet you, Ehn. Thank you again for coming by.” From her spot on a nearby cushion, Ruby gave a cursory wiggle of her nose at Rascal, before standing, tail flicking as she gave him a sniff. Fennie took a few moments to listen to Ehn’s explanation, nodding in understanding — at both the man’s seeming nerves, and his mention of “quirks”. At the miqo’te’s nervous tapping of his knuckles, Fennie quietly pushed over a small tray, topped with a pot of fresh-brewed tea, a clean mug, and a basket of still-steaming bread rolls with two small pots of jam and butter nestled within. “Courtesy of my husband, please help yourself.” he offered quietly, before reaching for a notebook and pen. “In a sense, you would be helping with my research, if you wouldn’t mind my asking a few questions about said ‘quirks?’. If you’re comfortable, that is. Any information you’re willing to share will certainly be of use.” Fennie set his pen down a moment, offering another smile, this time in a sort of solidarity. “And, please feel free to ask any questions of me, as well, if you’d like.”
Ehn had finally allowed himself to sit down when the tea tray was pushed towards him, ears going up before giving a curious flick. “O-oh, you don--” He paused, catching the words and holding them on his tongue for a moment before reaching for one of the rolls. “... th-thank you.”
He didn’t eat it right away, merely turning it over in his hands a bit before Fennie mentioned the ‘quirks’ again. Ehn could nearly hear the quote-marks around the word in his voice.
“Well... uh... I don’t think my free company knows fully about what it is yet, but... I do.” Would he sound crazy for admitting it out loud? That fear always clanged loudly in his mind when people started to poke and prod. “... it’s an Echo. Though... from a lot of what I’ve seen and heard in others, mine doesn’t... entirely work right. At least, not for the most important part.”
