xavier 'CA-CAW' blue eye bandit baxter being the first suspect is so funny. the guy who would illegally impersonate his father, the sheriff, and then tell everyone about it??? xavier, who's actually kind of an adorable, endearing weirdo? the guy who's now everyone's favourite hospital spirits ghost whisperer guide? he's being accused of murder? please

also it's so funny how eager simon was to jump on the 'xavier is guilty' train, he did NOT like this boy AT ALL (i mean neither did i cause him and claire were gross but simon hated him even before finding that out)

remember when mr anderson was suspicious for like 3 episodes? mr anderson, our favourite trusted adult??? no way, let him steal thousands of dollars idc, teachers don't get paid enough anyway. i support him. he can use the money to go on vacation, he needs it.

charley thinks xavier is cute?? (i agree but i did not remember him saying that)

field day is such a wholesome idea, i need more slice of life where we see what the ghosts get up to in between big plot moments, like movie night and the sock hop in s2. also this is where mally kinda starts, maybe this time they'll win me over

mr figueroa, i completely forgot about that storyline. charley my beloved you deserve all the closure you want and need and more. also interesting how he and yuri both had romance-related unfinished business from when they were alive, but they don't really talk about that (MORE EPISODES FOR CHARACTER EXPLORATION PLEASE)

the maddie's phone thing is still so confusing to me. so mr anderson destroyed the original after it had already been cloned and then xavier unknowingly stole the clone to try and hack it so she wouldn't find out about claire? a little convoluted but i think i got it? boo xavier and claire

rhonda and wally will find any and every reason to be at each other's throats, they are such siblings. last jelly doughnut? they're having an argument. maddie can talk to the living? somehow they're mad at each other and now they're yelling. i love them

how did xavier attract claire???? and trust me i think they're both being very gross with the infidelity, i shit on both of them for most of the season, but how did they even link up??? was it the bad boy shtick that got claire's attention? i need to know. claire, please explain

i care so much about these characters that i cry at everything now, wtf. crying through episode 1 cause simon and maddie care about each other so much, and simon's not okay, and omg wait he can see her😭😭. crying in episode 4 cause nicole is trying so hard to find maddie, and she has to be at horror con, right? maddie would never miss horror con, but she's not here so she must really be gone and nicole's not okay☹️

maddie showing up and very quickly getting through to the ghosts emotionally makes mr. martin look so stupid. all she's done is treat them (mina, dawn, charley and rhonda, no progress with wally yet) like actual people by talking to them and making them feel seen and she's made so much progress with them already. he's been here for like 60 years and has made no progress at all??? even if he had ulterior motives and was trying to find access points and lower the barrier and whatnot, you're telling me he couldn't have any sort of emotional breakthrough with any of them by now??? bruh

okay as of ep 5 it's been about a week and a half

LOREEE. the stuff with wally and his mom is really interesting; their tumultuous relationship, him only really playing football for her and not being in love with it the way she is, it's sad but interesting. and him finally deciding to move on from trying to make her proud. ugh i wanna know more about these guys, gimme more episodes :(

sandra's trying so hardddd and she's sober and she missed maddie and i'm gonna cry

does simon dictating a 'will you got to the homecoming dance with me' text to xavier count as a baxroy moment? they're baxroy crumbs, at least. i friendship them but i'll support the romantic shippers, idm

in the context of s1, it makes complete sense to go through all the characters and have them be suspects, that's how murder mysteries work. but in the context of the whole show, having xavier, nicole, claire, mr anderson be suspects? come on, that's our living squad, what do you mean murder suspect? leave mr south aloneeee

okay according to claire in ep 6 "xavier's hot. and original. and he's been through a lot" yeah okay claire. you know what? i'll accept that he was hot and willing so they hooked up and that's all it is. whatever, gross. i'm moving on from trying to figure them out. aaaand now i have to listen to them makeout. help

BRING BACK MADDIE AND CHARLEY BEING BESTIES. i do see the issue with the sassy gay best friend trope, trust me, and i can appreciate them pivoting away from that in s2 onwards, but maddie and charley barely interact at all anymore, which i do miss. they don't feel like close friends anymore :(

underrated duo: maddie and dawn. dawn helping maddie alter her dress for homecoming, stop i love them. would've loved to see the scene but i'll take maddie's word for it

xavier needing nicole's help to go suit shopping because he doesn't know fashion is so him, i love this loser (after s1 and now on rewatch)

i don't...love... mally (don't come for me, hear me out), i like them individually but idk they're not doing it for me as a full on couple. i think they do have potential, and there's a good dynamic there but the jump from 'hey we get along, there's some banter, and this could develop into something deeper', to 'oh we're together now' was a little abrupt, and we didn't see the full development of it. we only really saw wally crushing on her, and she does like spending time with him but i didn't fully buy her reciprocating the feelings and then she kisses him. gimme more time to feel the feels guys, omg. i'm not writing them off, i just need time

also, wally's trying so hard to make this homecoming date special and she's not in it cause she's focused on xavier & claire, i feel so bad for him. it's okay, he got his dance break moment, he had some fun.

can we get some commotion for rhonda's homecoming outfit? she wasn't in this episode a lot but she ate

i can get behind simon having had a crush on maddie way back when at some point (which he shut down, btw), that's just too cute, but i still don't ship them in present day, idc. platonic soulmates

okay i'm watching the recap and the homecoming dance episode was so gross, eugh.

not nicole's art portfolio just being a physical pinterest board of maddie, why is she me. raise your hand if you've ever made a pinterest board of one of your favourite characters🙋🏾‍♀️ mr south leaves lollipops for the ants in the school instead of exterminating them and i'm supposed to believe he threw maddie around the boiler room and killed her. oh okay (ghost squad is watching a mock trial being held by some of the living students) mr martin: "it's powerful holding someone else's fate in your hands." YEAH YOU WOULD KNOW!!!! GIVE THEM THEIR KEYS AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE BEEN HIDING FOR 60 YEARS YOU ASS. i hate him (until s3)

when s1 was airing i was so active on the school spirits twitter and they had me CONVINCED that simon was the one who killed maddie and obviously that's not true but that would've been such a good twist. the loyal best friend that has been helping her investigate the murder this whole time, the one with such a strong connection to her it transcends life and death and it turns out that he's the one that did it? that would've been sooo good. i think the theory was that he was able to see her because he was involved with her death, and if you squint you can kinda see the possibility cause simon can be really intense and passionate about maddie, so that can make him look really guilty really easily. i would've eaten it up. and you could say the guilt he felt was driving him to help her with the investigation, i would've eaten it uppppp

okay claire just ripped into sheriff baxter for calling xavier a loser (fuck him) so i need to clarify that when i call him a loser it's endearing and i mean it with love, i adore that loser. that's my fave loser birdman with piercing blue eyes <3 claire don't yell at me
