it seems like every year one horror movie and one non-horror comes out in theatres and takes permanent residence in my brain and forces me to think about it and nothing else for months on end, and i fear i've just gotten the latest addition to that list. 2024 horror: the substance non horror: challengers 2025 horror: weapons and sinners (fave one vs best one of the year, my brain couldn't pick on) non-horror: wake up dead man 2026 horror: leviticus (honorable mention for backsession but i fear leviticus takes the cake) non-horror: i love boosters isnt out near me yet but i think it'll be that or maybe sheep detectives counting from 2024 cause i used to barely watch movies and only started cinephile-ing in like 2023

leviticus (2026) spoilers cause i finally locked the fuck in and watched it the resolution being it's not undoable, or reversible, the entity isn't going to go away and the people around us will continue to believe in the necessity of it, but instead of choosing to live in fear of it we can choose each other, and find peace in the love we have for each other, and we can find our way to be free. holy fucking shit, 2 australian dollars and a dream, 5 total cast members, and a frank ocean song, and they pulled it off, fuck. happy fucking last day of pride month to me. gonna cry in a corner now.

currently watching spiral (2021) (spoilers) and if william isn't revealed to be the jigsaw dupe i'm gonna be so upset. my unhinged but totally correct theory is that he has some sort of bone to pick with the metro police department so what does he do? rise to the top of the ranks of the police academy so he is guaranteed a spot in the department, he gets assigned to work with chris rock (i cant see him as whatever character name they've given him, that's chris rock to me), and bodies start dropping. he literally tells him "your father is the reason i'm here" but does he mean that sincerely or did he get fucked over by him and the department in te past and he's here for revenge??? he tells chris rock about his wife and kid, and his tattoo is on display, charlie for his son, then all of a sudden he disappears from the movie and his tattooed skin is found in a jigsaw box??? and we barely see him go through the trap even though with the other victims we focus on them?? no definitely not suspicious at all how a major character in the movie just disappears halfway through and we don't focus on this death like we do the others, mmhmm. no reason for him being in the trap, no backstory, just killed and skinned, allegedly. was he actually ID'd besides his easily identifiable tattoo? PLEASE LET IT BE WILLIAM he's probably the only character i actually like but i'm so down for him to be the villain please please please

when s1 was airing i was so active on the school spirits twitter and they had me CONVINCED that simon was the one who killed maddie and obviously that's not true but that would've been such a good twist. the loyal best friend that has been helping her investigate the murder this whole time, the one with such a strong connection to her it transcends life and death and it turns out that he's the one that did it? that would've been sooo good. i think the theory was that he was able to see her because he was involved with her death, and if you squint you can kinda see the possibility cause simon can be really intense and passionate about maddie, so that can make him look really guilty really easily. i would've eaten it up. and you could say the guilt he felt was driving him to help her with the investigation, i would've eaten it uppppp

this is so unrelated to anything i usually post but i watched saw 7 aka saw 3D aka the saw movie where we randomly fling things at the screen cause it's 3D aka saw the final final final chapter no we swear this is the last saw movie ever we promise, anyway i watched it for the first time and i can feel the parasites in me awakening to develop a new fixation, HELP i was just trying to get through a popular horror movie series and not get obsessed HELP!!!!!!
