Your excitement of going home lessens every step you take in this goddamn dark alley. The fact that the sun decided to take an early off at 3pm because it's winter is not helping at all. The feeling and paranoia of someone following you grows heavy by every footstep so you speed up until you're out and finally somewhere where the lampposts are not flickering.
A heavy sigh leaves your lungs when you reach the bus stop of the bus you don't even take cause public transport is for losers γ ‘ joking, of course.
"Hey!"
A hand latches on your forearm and you almost ugly screamed at all the suspense hitting you like a shockwave, but you only jump in place. Your eyes meet the one and only sparkling eyes of Mark Lee, a sophomore from your university and... your ultimate crush.
The person you have been trying to make a longer eye contact with for so long.
The eyes you, sadly, can't look away from.
His eyes are a bit wide and he looks like he just ran a half marathon by the way he's panting. "H-hey", he greeted again and you only smile at him sheepishly before greeting him back.
Your heart is racing and you're scared he might hear it.
Remember the first time you talked to him? Yeah, that was when he stayed overnight at your house. Your brother, fellow sophomore along with Mark, is one of his fratmates. They're rarely over at your house because even your brother seems to neglect the place called home. Your parents knew that frat of theirs was gonna change him, but you actually didn't mind γ ‘ except when you had to do all the chores he usually did. Since you know.. you're the only one present.
He gives a quick glance behind him before reluctantly wrapping his arm around your shoulder - then. you. freeze.
Um..
What.
The.
Hell.
Is happening right now?γ ‘
You've never been THIS close to Mark Lee.
"Uhm γ ‘ what are you doing?"
Oh shit. You said that out loud. Aha. Oops.
Mark leans closer so you look straight ahead to avoid his attractive doe eyes. "There's this girl who has been following me around, calling my name and kept saying she loves me or some shit. She's gonna obnoxiously ask me out. Please help me." He whispers, sounding very desperate and traumatised.
Something sparks inside you.
You vision turns red and everything that happens next becomes a blur.
All of a sudden, you stand on your tiptoes to engulf him into a hug, taking him aback but hesitantly hugging you back whilst trying to see the obnoxious girl through his peripheral vision and he sees her suddenly come to a halt.
Aight, he is going to trust you with this.
When you let go, your hands stay on his shoulders, eyes looking at him like he owns a whole galaxy in his (which he kinda does) and you act accordingly, "Alright, I forgive you. Just please.. don't do that again."
Wow.
You are so convincing right now.
It takes Mark a split moment to realise what scenario you're playing right now and when he finally did, he plays along; pouting at you.
"I know. I'm so sorry. It was my mistake.."
Holy crap you almost blew your cover.
You bite your inner cheeks and almost groan at his cuteness, but you stop yourself - pulling him into a hug instead. This time, Mark doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around your waist.
Oh how you wish you both could stay like this forever.
Your head turns when you realise the girl hasn't left yet. Gosh she is pissing you off!
You let go, fully turning to make eye contact with her.
"May I help you?" You question, sounding quite dominant and.. eherm.. scary.
"N-no n-nothing." She stammers, turning before walking out of you guys' sights.
Sadly, theatre classes are over.
You sigh, turning back to Mark who has a relieved expression on. "Gosh, thank you so much." He sincerely says, smiling at you while he runs his fingers through his locks. You had to look away to not get caught. "I don't know what I would've done if it wasn't you."
Whoa what does he mean by that - oof.
"Nah, no problem." You shrug, putting your earphones into your ears, expecting him to leave. You open your playlist and scroll through it for a good song.
A hand reaches to gently take one of your earphones out. Mark Lee is still standing there.
"I owe you." He says. "Say, treat you at my parent's restaurant on Friday?" You jaw drops. Holy shit.
Mark Lee is treating you to his family's restaurant?! The famous authentic gourmet restaurant the Lees are famous for?! Oh my God!
"You're kidding right?"
He only grins. "No not at all."
You are still in shock and he chuckles, seeing your reaction. He sees the bus approaching and gets his bus card ready while you are still in a daze.
"So.. It's a date? See you around school, Y/N."
He flashes you one cute smile before stepping in and showing the driver his card. When he chooses a seat, it's the one by the window to the right side so he could wave bye at you as the bus leaves.
Wait.
A date?!
And did he just say your name?!
MARK LEE KNOWS YOUR NAME?!
Huh!
