If I’m being completely transparent, my greatest insecurity isn’t a physical feature but a duty. My greatest insecurity has always been falling short of supplying my daughter the life she’s deserving of. Not what I can provide, and I fall short of that in many ways right now. And that makes me feel bad but motivates me to change, it just isn’t happening timely enough to compensate for her comprehension level. I’m laying a foundation but it isn’t solid enough. I’m not honoring the life I’m responsible for. I am always running behind. She is always having to accommodate my ability to provide her needs. She is too often required to be understanding of my shortcomings and she doesn’t know what it is to have a complete family household with a mommy and daddy and I hold myself responsible for that shortcoming reflected. Today her first set of school pictures (picture above) came home. And they’re amazing! I want to order the key chain now. It’s not the most sound decision financially but I want to exist in these moments and milestones. I can’t get these back, but my greatest level of insecurity is my responsibilities that come with this phase makes me unable to really take the time to truly appreciate and bask in them. I LOVE THIS GIRL TO LIFE and I literally want to give her the best life I can imagine for her and the one she imagines too. But I’m falling short in so many areas and I want to change that reality. The problem is some days I feel incapable of doing so.
