Challenges Teenagers Face

In today’s society, teenagers are facing a whole new set of challenges, compared to the challenges teenagers were facing a few decades ago. In our parent’s generation, they did not have the extreme influence of social media on their lives. A challenge that is a direct result of social media and the other wonders that the internet provides, is cyber addiction. While many parents and teens remain oblivious to the power that the internet has on teenager’s lives, it continues going strong. A less direct impact is that of body image and self esteem. The media is filled with so many photo shopped images of models, movie stars and singers. Right from childhood, we are forced into this world of perfection and flawlessness, to the point where that becomes the norm, and any less is unacceptable. This can have a severe impact on teenager’s undeveloped minds, and can shape the way they think for the rest of their lives.

When asked “Why do you think these are challenges?” There is a simple, underlying answer. The media and the internet is essentially impossible to escape- Everyday, on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, whatever it may be, we see the best of every OTHER teenager’s life. To put it clearly, we compare THEIR highlight reel to our saddest days. Over time, teenagers have become more and more vulnerable

When We Were Caged

Rules were written so we can obey to it. Rules written so we can live depend on it. Rules were written so our live can be more regular. But how if the rules were written so it can caged us?

Often we, students, forget about the rules. But sometimes we obey it.

When will student obey the rules?

We obey the rules when the rules are absurd for us. When we can accept and when we know that the rules were written for our good. But sometimes, the rules are not make sense. We aren’t robots. We are human being and this is a free country.

Example, a rule that mentions about a student’s disobedience to his or her teacher. I remember some words said “teacher knows best”. So when we wanted to correct them, they wrote it as a disobedience. I thought that that is makes no sense at all. We want to correct them, but they thought that we are just a teenager and they are already grew up so they knew the best.

The house’s rules were the same. In my house, my rules and my sister’s rules are different. But I understand that that’s because the differences in our age. But a rules about we cannot stay up late is makes no sense. If we got an insomnia, what can my mom do for it? She just got mad all the time and she told us to go to sleep. HOW CAN I SLEEP WHEN I GOT A FREAKING INSOMNIA?!

Well yeah sometimes I got an insomnia and my mom doesn’t understand about that. She would say “How can you got insomnia? I never got something like that in my life.” And i wanted to scream “I AM NOT YOU.” But she is my mother and if I said something ;like that she will kick me out of the house.

However when were caged by the rules, we can do nothing about it, literally. We just can wait someone who will got the key and open our cage. And we are still waiting.

A big thing called techonology

Hey again.

um… I know it’s a little be awkward but I am starting to write again. Now it’s about technology. I don’t know but technology is just like…something that we really want these days. I feel it myself. Live without tech? It’s almost impossible for me. Technology is not just phone and computer. There ARE another technology that we never knew before.

People love technology because it helps us doing tasks and works. I already asked my mother and father about technology, and they said the same thing. 

I always wondering, what will technology be int 2201? Maybe, there will be flying cars, or robots, or even portable food cooker. It will amazing. 

And I always wondering about “How if I met the one who invented these technologies?” It would be awesome. I would ask them a lot of things, and they might be super genius. 

Technology…something important that we really need. We need technology for work, study, and even relaxation. Imagine world without television, laptop, or MP3 player? It would be a really really really boring world. So, I am very thankful for they who already invented technology. 

You help us a lot, bro.

But don’t let technology tear us apart.

My thoughts

Sitting here is torturous, seconds away from exploding. Days of pent up rage and waiting. Nowhere for it to go. No way to escape. Stuck. Silence is surrounding me, broken only by the sounds of pen on paper and people whose disrespect is astounding. I wonder how people can view their world so emotionlessly.

I wonder... does he even think of me now sitting only a few seats away or is his mind far away.. I guess I'll never know.

Some days I feel like I don't care, like he could leave my life and I wouldn't mind. But when I wake the next morning I realise I'm wrong. It's like I've been poisoned and there's no cure.. But the more poison I ingest the slower I die... But the stronger the pain.

Maybe time will fix me

but I don't know how much time it will take 

and with each passing day

I wish more and more

for release....
