An idea that went a step further than expected: mutual art goals. Artists inspire and learn from each other, and it’s always so heart warming when they talk about being each others’ art goals.
So, one time when I saw one of these occurrences, and with permission from both @shiro-hunter and @anrylart I drew their Crosses in each of their styles - Shiro’s Schwarzer and Anryl’s Danniel.
Focus was more on the head (hair, eyes, face shape, etc.) and not the rest of the body. (Brain fried when I realized I would have to draw the armour in each f their styles so it ended up being a mix of their style and my own.) Overall, it was a fun and mentally weird learning exercise. More artist ramblings below.

I focused more on how each of them do their sketches. This was meant to be a relatively quick exercise so I figured it would be the simpler approach. And sketching styles vary from sketch to sketch, so I mixed and matched the sketching styles for convenience.
I had a lot of fun with Anryl’s cross hatching style on the hair. I love the roundness of the eyes and the more realistic style to the nose.
I think I’ve learned how to make soft and fluffy(?) looking hair from Shiro. Might even have Schwarzer’s hair style down now? I also enjoyed figuring out the eye and mouth style as well.
I love how...round and full(?) the faces feel to draw. The amount of detail on the ears is way more than what I do, which is something I definitely should work on! And getting an eye style? And nose style?
Now that I have this space to say things, I can’t think of how to say them or what to say. Maybe it’ll come through in the drawing?
I miss doing traditional pencil sketches. The best(?) part about doing it digitally is no smudges. And infinite erasing.
The first time when I stopped following the reference and automatically did “my own thing” which did not match their style, I had a realization of “Oh. that would be my style. This thing that I am tempted to do that is not either of their styles. I get it now. That would be my style.” I’ve had a vague idea of what my style was, but it was not so apparent until I had to stop using it. The usual time to realize something.
Oh yeah, alternate hair style I tried for Danniel in Shiro’s style. As a bonus for getting through my rambings.
