Because I also run an RP blog where xkit would be useful, and: 1) the common parlance among tumblr RP blogs is, if somebody’s URL has a hyphen, you don’t turn it into a space, you delete it, so nearly everyone with a hyphenated URL who tracks their own tags does so with the hyphen deleted, and 2) as a consequence of the prior point, I’ve got two and a half years logged on my current RP blog in which the people I’ve been interacting with have their names tagged without the space, and I’m not going to SWITCH how I tag the URLs of people with whom I’ve been interacting for years. Like, I’ve got one person with a hyphenated url that i’ve tagged in 1,943 posts. It wouldn’t make sense to randomly change their tag and break that continuity.
Therefore, xkit offers a really useful auto-tagging feature which I would really like to be able to use, but am unable to use in its current configuration.
