Mountain “Pegs”

I’ve come to find that Muslims believe what the quran says about the mountains simply because they have absolutely no basic understanding of geography. In here, you’ll see questions formed simply because Abdi knows nothing about: -the rain shadow effect -how plate tectonics work -how soil is made

"What if there were no mountains formed with their deep roots" They aren't deep roots...here, I'll explain:  "What would be the condition of the land mass that slipped above the other plate?" One subducts, it's not like they'd have two slippery plates sliding around for fun. Even with the mountains, they don't go deeeeeep into the Earth to somehow stop the plates from moving. The plates absolutely still move with mountains on top. The mountains in no way stop the plates from moving. The reason we wouldn't have two plates slipping on top of each other is because of subduction. Please look it up for further information, but basically one plate remains on top while the other goes underneath it and reheats back into magma.  "Would it have flowing rivers?" If everything was 100% flat, there would be no gravitational effect to cause rivers. This has zero to do with what the quran says about mountains, though.

 "Just think why is the Indian side of the Himalayas wet while Tibet is dry? Would most of the earths land mass become like Tibet dry?" No. Tibet (and other areas near the mountains) are dry because of something called the "rain shadow". Here's how it works. -warm air evaporates water -water vapor is pushed closer to a mountain -as the vapor travels up the mountain, it cools (the higher you go, the colder it gets) -cold air cannot hold as much vapor as warm/hot air, so clouds form and it rains on one side of the mountain -this now-dry air continues over the mountain -the dry air goes down the other side of the mountain, and begins to heat up -the dry, now-hot air absorbs moisture from the opposite side of the mountain, making it dry This means without mountains, we'd have no rain shadow, so those super dry places would not exist in as many places as they do.

"The deep roots of the mountains formed by plates moving over each other stabilizes and firms up the land mass. So yes mountains are like pegs firming the earth's land mass, allowing soil to build up, reducing the forming of cracks on the land mass because its under contraction."

This is 100% false.

despite mountains, the plates absolute still move. The mountains IN NO WAY stop the plates from moving ("stabilize" them as you called it). That's a physical impossibility because the layer under the crust is liquid magma, causing land plates (even with mountains) to slowly move around the Earth. 

 soil doesn't build up because of mountains, I'm not even sure why you think this. You think that soil wouldn't exist without mountains? Explain yourself. 

mountains do not reduce cracks on the land mass 'because it's under contraction', and I don't think you know what "contraction" means in the first place. The cracks in the Earth's crust are along fault lines, which are near plate boundaries. That means NEXT TO THE MOUNTAINS you'll be able to find deep cracks. For example, the San Andreas Fault in California has formed despite the huge Sierra Nevada mountain range. 

 Seriously, all of your questions would be answered with a simple middle school geography course. This is literally in the textbooks of middle school students.

.. As If He Is Climbing Up To The Sky

﴿فَمَن يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَن يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلإِسْلَـمِ وَمَن يُرِدْ أَن يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقاً حَرَجاً كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِى السَّمَآءِ﴾

“And whomsoever Allāh Wills to guide, He opens his chest to Islām, and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his chest closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky.”

(Sūrah al-An‘ām, 6: 125)

Climbing up to the sky causes the chest of man closed and constricted.

How?

Because: Oxygen decreases at a certain level of height..

“… if he goes up higher to 25,000 feet high, his body fails to cope with such an unfamiliar height. So what happens? Certain symptoms begin to show. First, he feels that his breast is closed and constricted..”

About 1500 years ago No one from the human beings knew this fact which was discovered firstly in 17th century.

Then Who told Muhammad (pbuh) about it when even ‘climbing up into the sky’ was not more than imagination?
