Interesting that my professor today commented on the fact that I am becoming a “basic” scientist (meaning basic principles of learning & behavior) when I was really thinking the more applied route would be what I would be doing. I don’t mind, necessarily. Finally I will be getting to start my dog research rather than focusing on my children/dog stuff, which is still ongoing. But focusing on JUST dogs will be exciting. I’ll be taking a look at “friendship” in multi-dog households (treat donation, behavioral synrchonization, and greetings between “friends” and “stranger” dogs), and looking at preference assessments correlation (including a group preference assesment! which will be interesting and scary to say the least!)
